Disney used to have dress codes and rules about how you act in their park and consequences for those actions. But now they worry about peoples feelings instead of people’s safety
100%.
How much do you want to bet that most kids have no idea about The Song of the South? Splash Mountain used to be one of my daughter’s favorite rides mostly because of the songs. They were catchy. She had no idea where the characters came from.
My daughter loves Song of the South. When she heard Splash Mountain was shutting down she invited her friends over to watch the movie. Of twenty kids abou 1/3 of them had never heard of it.
There is no excuse for how this person acted. No excuse for yelling out something hateful and ugly in a family park. And there is no excuse for certain people in this online forum accusing Disney of being too “woke”. I miss Splash Mountain too and always will. But I have no tolerance whatsoever for racist sexist homophobic hate and ignorance. I ever hear anything like that- especially at D-land- and I will not be silent.
