Due to the sheer size of the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, guests may have a hard time riding everything there is to ride and doing everything there is to do. Despite Disney World being considered a once-in-a-lifetime trip for most, the resort practically begs visitors to take multiple trips.

This is why planning is key, especially for those who aren’t sure when their next trip to “The Most Magical Place on Earth” might be. Below are a few key things to avoid ahead of time and during your trip to Disney World.

Missing Key Attractions

With so many rides and attractions to choose from, it can be hard to know what to focus on and what to skip. While there are only a few attractions we’d recommend you skip in Walt Disney World, everything is worth trying at least once. However, a Disney vacation doesn’t last forever, meaning it can be easy to miss certain rides and attractions.

We suggest making a list of must-do experiences before your vacation begins; that way, you know what exactly to look out for. Classic rides like Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, and “it’s a small world” will likely be at the top of these lists, though guests shouldn’t underestimate some of Disney’s weirder and more obscure attractions.

Muppet*Vision 3D is an excellent choice if you need to take a break from the hustle and bustle (and heat) of Hollywood Studios, offering guests an immersive and hilarious three-dimensional show featuring The Muppets. This attraction isn’t set to be open much longer, making it an even bigger priority for guests visiting soon.

Wasting Time

While the cost of a Disney vacation has continued to increase, time is still the most valuable currency when on vacation. Guests need to prepare ahead of time to make the most of their time inside and outside of the four theme parks. Reading up on the parks themselves can be a great start, as can looking up guide maps online.

Planning out your day can be a vital step in ensuring that your time at Disney World is as fruitful and magical as possible.

While rides and attractions reign supreme, Walt Disney World is also a haven for foodies. Magic Kingdom is home to several restaurants we recommend not skipping out on, such as Jungle Skipper Canteen, The Plaza, and Cinderella’s Royal Table.

EPCOT features the most variety of the four theme parks, allowing guests to explore and experiment with a wide range of flavors from around the world.

Animal Kingdom has some more “out-there” choices, especially at places like Tusker House and Satu’li Canteen, but both are absolutely delicious.

Hollywood Studios features classic theme park fare like burgers and fried chicken, though guests can find lighter, more inventive options at places like the ABC Commissary and 50s Prime Time Cafe.

No matter what you choose to do at Walt Disney World, you are bound to have a magical day. These tips should at least put you on the right path to having as perfect a time as possible.
