To be totally honest I have never been to any of the water parks. All of the many, many visits over the years, never been to a water park. I have used the hotel pools. Especially after a night out! I was never afraid to be alone in the pool even though it was 1 or 2 am. I was never chased away. The grounds keepers were very kind to tell me to be careful. Or, if I was alright. I always felt safe in Walt Disney World. My slice of Heaven on Earth.
Being a native to Florida & living about 2 1/2 hrs from Disney bu takes longer to get there due to traffic, I remember going to Disney, Epcot, Universal etc often until prices kept rising. Yes even for Fl residents. So it’s been a while since my last visits. No offense to the Northerners who want to experience the magic, but I disagree that ppl from Fl (my grandfather is Seminole Indian so my whole family are natives to FL) should have to pay as much as we do to get in the parks. So many ppl from the North are moving to FL causing the price of living etc to soar and us native Floridians can’t even afford to live here on our own anymore. Unfortunately there are not very many of us left here. Being a single mom makes it even more difficult to survive here. But anyways, I would love to be able to take my grandchildren to enjoy the magic like I got to. So my beliefs are if you are a born n raised Floridian then you should not have to pay a fortune to enter places we grew up getting to enjoy but now we can’t because prices have soared so high we can’t afford to.
I agree the prices are outrageous. I guess you just have to keep your eyes open and look for specials. I’m born and raised in Florida also. And I can’t afford to go back. I’ve only been to Walt Disney world once in my life
One of the things I would love to come back is the “Magic Your Way “, even if you have to pay extra for it. The comfort of having your luggage arrive to your room and do the airline check-in back from the hotel. Plus just take a bus from the airport and back really is something great when you are on vacation
There’s a decent deal right now for fl residents. 4 days for 239$ and they don’t have to be consecutive. That comes out to like 60$per day. You could split that into two visits. 2 parks one time and 2 parks the next. But I know when it’s tough it’s tough, good luck.
Thought these comments were supposed to be about water parks?!?! I think having everything open for the summer is a great idea. I haven’t been to either water park since my children were younger. I might even go myself this summer.
I took 2 friends there a few years ago. Waiting literally at least an hour to go on any popular rides. Place is absolutely packed and see a dozen more busses unloading at the gate.
They needed attendants to hold signs above the crowds “saying walk this way” to keep the mass flowing.
Going i to one attraction, we were happy as no one was standing at the gate, and we were cheerily waved in, to be greeted by a huge crowd at the main entrance. The ride matron says, ” now listen everybody, we are going inside now, and no single file or two by two, I need shoulder to shoulder and wall to wall!”.
Stayed one night for the fireworks finale. Very nice. Everyone was packed together trying to exit the park at closing. You literally had to move with the crowd, taking tiny steps in unision. The line for the bus back to the Art of Animation hotel was at least an hour wait, withe the line about a quarter mile long.
A little crowd limitation would have been nice, it was just too crowded to be enjoyable, and made for a dreadful experience for me personally, but it gave my 2 friends good Honeymoon memories .

It still exists, sort of. Mears, who operated that Magical ride, still does for $16 each way. And the luggage service is returning. Look into it

That just sounds like an average high occupancy day. Try going during shoulder season in early may and late August/ early Sept.
