Last night’s episode of Daredevil Born Again delivered one of this season’s best episodes and maybe one of the best in Daredevil show history. We saw the return of Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye and discovered there might’ve been more to Foggy’s death than we initially thought. This challenged Matt’s perceptions of justice and vengeance and pushed him further into moral ambiguity.

The tension between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk reaches a breaking point, culminating in Matt heroically taking a bullet meant for Fisk, leaving his fate uncertain and in a shocking cliffhanger.

A very violent finale

“Isle of Joy” amplifies the series’ visual flair and emotional stakes, leading up to a season finale that promises to be one of the most brutal the MCU has ever seen.
According to executive producers and directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, were in for a shocking surprise.
In an interview with TVLine, the directing duo spoke about what fans can expect in next week’s finale.

“There is a moment in the finale that is extraordinarily shocking on a practical effects level, and is very, very, very violent — but also, as filmmakers, incredibly exciting. You’ll know what I’m talking about [when you see it], and I can’t wait for people to understand why there’s a gleam in my eye.”
“[The finale] is so brutally tragic…. A bonanza of bonkers visuals.”

What we haven’t seen yet

Fans have been piecing together clues from leaked set photos that surfaced earlier this year. Among the most intriguing reveals was Daredevil’s new black suit, complete with the iconic “DD” logo. The suit appears to be a version of his classic red suit, painted black, sparking speculation about it symbolizing Matt embracing his darker instincts.

Thanks to interviews with Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, and Charlie Cox, we know the show still has a couple more epic scenes up its sleeve.
Gearing up for the season finale is the long-awaited return of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, coming back to clear his name and take back his skull logo from the hands of New York’s corrupt police department.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Winderbaum teased what the Punisher might bring to the season finale.
“[Matt] goes to Frank because he needs something done that he’s unwilling to do. And Frank, a bull in a china shop, drives right to the heart of the matter. As you get later in the season, especially in the culmination, Frank’s appearances are just insane.”

In another interview with Entertainment Weekly from last year, Charlie Cox also hinted that we might see the return of Karen Page and a very emotional scene involving Matt.

“Deborah and I had a scene where we find an old box — am I allowed to say that? I think I can say that,” he says. “We had a scene where we were looking through a box and we find stuff from the past, and it was real stuff from the past. It was stuff from the old [show]. It was like a photo frame we used on a set eight years ago and we were looking at it together — well, I wasn’t looking at it. But we were reminiscing over it, and it was sweet. It was kind of a little bit of life imitating art.”

“Definitely a lot of no-acting-required moments. Real nostalgic,” added Deborah Anne Woll.

Will Matt Murdock emerge from the shadows stronger, or will the weight of his choices pull him down further? With new suits, old rivals, and seismic shifts in Hell’s Kitchen’s power dynamics, the Daredevil: Born Again season finale is shaping up to be a must-watch event.

Are you excited about the Daredevil: Born Again season finale? Do you think we’ll see the Man Without Fear in an upcoming Marvel project?
