The official theatrical release date for Disney’s highly controversial, much-talked-about live-action Snow White remake is fast approaching, and it appears to be another slam dunk for The Walt Disney Company. Officially releasing on March 21, 2025, the film will likely dominate the Spring Break box office, with word of mouth being exceptionally positive for Snow White ahead of its release.

Of course, Snow White has been one of the most controversial and divisive releases from Disney in quite some time. While a lot of this pushback has grown and been cultivated through online spaces, some of which likely operate with ulterior motives and agendas, Snow White herself, Rachel Zegler, has gone on record saying some rather unexpected things about the character and the original Disney classic.

However, controversy has also clouded Rachel Zegler’s co-star, Gal Gadot, who recently received her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Variety shared a video of the ceremony on Twitter, showing that Gadot was accompanied by Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins and Vin Diesel, among others.

Like her Snow White co-star, Gadot has faced her own controversies, though for completely different reasons.

Gadot has been criticized over her comments regarding the ongoing struggle between Palestine and Israel, with the star recently landing in more hot water for her stance on the issue.

In a recent interview with Variety, Gadot, an eighth-generation Israeli, reiterated her support for the country. “I’m not a hater. I’m a grandchild of a Holocaust survivor who came to Israel and established his family from scratch after his entire family was erased in Auschwitz.”

“I am all about humanity,” she continued, “and I felt like I had to advocate for the hostages. I am praying for better days for all. “I want everybody to have good life and prosperity and the ability to raise their children in a safe environment.”

Online, users took issue not only with Gadot’s comments but also with the actress’s being given her own place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“It’s a bit premature to give her a star already,” said one user. “What’s her contribution? Her legacy is only supporting genocide in Gaza,” said another.

These comments are especially interesting considering her Snow White co-star Rachel Zegler has been staunchly in support of Palestine in the months leading up to the film’s release.
