Today, Saturday, March 15, 2025 marks the reopening of one of EPCOT’s attractions–but after yesterday’s issues, will the ride open on time?

Out of all the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, EPCOT is the one that isn’t undergoing some form of large-scale overhaul. That’s because EPCOT only just finished its World Celebration area in 2024, which brought locations like the CommuniCore Hall and the CommuniCore Plaza to the Disney theme park.

While Animal Kingdom rethemes DinoLand U.S.A., Magic Kingdom uproots Frontierland, and Hollywood Studios prepares to welcome the world of Monstropolis, EPCOT’s changes are on the smaller scale. Test Track will reopen later this year, reimagined with the original World of Motion theming, but aside from that, changes at the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow are on the quieter side.

Since early January, the Mexico pavilion—which is currently under construction—has not been welcoming guests to the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros attraction due to refurbishment. The ride closed on January 6, the same time as Magic Kingdom’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and is scheduled to reopen today, March 15.

The reopening of the ride comes amid the spring break surge at the Walt Disney World theme parks–a surge that has caused the pricey Lightning Lane Premier Pass to sell out for multiple days in a row at Magic Kingdom, priced at $449. With Gran Fiesta Tour’s reopening coming on a busy weekend, it will surely ease crowds at Disney World’s EPCOT park.

That said, recent reports claimed that yesterday’s soft opening of the attraction had to be cancelled after a number of animatronics were not working. Guests who wanted to experience the ride before its official reopening were later unable to as Disney World cast members shut down the queue in order for maintenance to work on the broken pieces.

Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros is just one attraction found in EPCOT’s World Showcase. Other rides include Frozen Ever After in Norway and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in France.
