In 2017, Disney and Pixar teamed up to create one of its most beautiful and heartfelt stories to date, Coco. Coco tells the story of Miguel, a young boy growing up in his family of shoemakers, but he doesn’t feel like he quite fits in.
Due to the actions of his great-great-grandfather, there is no music allowed in their house. However, Miguel loves music, and he doesn’t think that he should be punished for something that his great-great-grandfather did before he was even born.

Miguel believes that he is the great-great-grandson of the world-famous singer, Ernesto De La Cruz, and when he plays Ernesto’s guitar, he is transported to the land of the dead, where he meets some of his ancestors. While there, he learns that he is not Ernesto’s great-great-grandson, and that Ernesto is an evil thief who killed Miguel’s actual great-great-grandfather, Hector.
Miguel and Hector must work together to prove that Hector was trying to get back to his family when he was killed and to return Miguel to the land of the living before he becomes stuck in the land of the dead for eternity.
