On Tuesday, Disneyland Resort announced that it was officially sunsetting the “Avengers Assemble!” stunt show in Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure Park. The show was one of the first entertainment offerings to premiere at Disneyland Resort after it reopened during the COVID-19 pandemic.
For nearly four years, guests could watch as either Black Panther or Captain America teamed up with Black Widow to defend Avengers Campus from two enemies sent by Taskmaster to steal important cargo. During the 2021 holiday season, Disney California Adventure Park debuted a seasonal version of the show starring Hawkeye and Kate Bishop, coinciding with the Disney+ premiere of the Hawkeye limited series.
Unfortunately, Disney Park guests will see their favorite Marvel superheroes save the day for the final time next month. On Tuesday, Disneyland Resort told The Orange County Register that the “Avengers Assemble!” stunt show would play its final performance in Avengers Campus on April 5, 2025. The Southern California Disney park didn’t share anything about a possible replacement for the show.
The “Avengers Assemble!” stunt performers were some of Disneyland Resort’s highest-paid entertainment cast members, making $40.48 per hour.

This cancellation comes amid an onslaught of entertainment cuts at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. On Monday, Disneyland Resort confirmed the permanent closure of the Disney Jr. Dance Party! show, making way for a new experience later this year.
Entertainment cuts have hit Avengers Campus particularly hard. Last year, “Doctor Strange: Mysteries of the Mystic Arts” and “Story Time with Deadpool Holiday Special” played their final performances.
Disney California Adventure Park also cut stunt performers from The Amazing Spider-Man” show and slashed the number of performances for “Warriors of Wakanda: The Disciplines of the Dora Milaje” and “Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off!”.

The Spider-Man Stuntronic show has also cut live performers, though it still performs daily. Several Marvel character meet-and-greets still take place daily in Avengers Campus.
These cuts come as Disneyland Resort prepares to double the size of its Avengers Campus with two new attractions: Avengers: Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab. They will join Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! and WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure.
