Really, give me a break! Pirates of the Caribbean is one of the greatest rides ever! Please don’t change it, just fix the mechanical issues.

    1. Rroe

YES, don’t get me started on those “WOKE” folks.

  2. JOHN. F WEINBERGER.111

Okay this is enough leave it leave it alone there’s nothing wrong with the ride the way it is the original is always the best matter of fact put all the rides back to their original conception the people will like it whole lot better

    1. Kim

I feel the same way! Enough with the pettiness, if you don’t like the ride, don’t ride it, but leave it the original way for the millions of others who liked it the way it was. Somebody somewhere will ALWAYS find something to complain about. There are more people who liked the original ride, than there are people who were “offended”, so I say majority rules !

      1. Marcy

Totally agree! Leave the ride it was originally and if you don’t like it, don’t ride it.
Someone will find something wrong with everything.
Give me a break from all these people….a few changing things for everyone is wrong!

  3. Frank

Pirates is one of the best rides there . If you feel upset for some imagined slight then don`t go back on it . We need to stop banning things that only a few dislike . Be it the Pirates rise or women`s rights . If you`re so sensitive just stay in your own little world . The rest of us will do well without you .

    1. EC

Seriously. Offensive? It was the way of the world in previous times…if we cancel everything from the past, we would never learn from our mistakes.

      1. Danny O.

What do you mean about people not learning from the past? In the past (late 1930’s), a man took over a country based on his prejudice. He started rounding people up in mass (using his own group of militia). He had convinced a bunch of people to also be prejudice; and turn on their friends, family, neighbors, and community.

And he didn’t stick to just those that didn’t share the religion he wanted. He also went after people associated with Pride. He wanted to turn the world into white male supremacy. He went after a Danish country.

Of course, this all happened in the past. Therefore, we can learn from it…right?

      2. A Ess

You feel ogled on ride with “puppets” but walk around a park with thousands of people and you are fine with that? Sounds like you need therapy. If you don’t like an attraction, don’t ride it.

    2. Noemi

      Simple solution:
      Don’t like it,
      Don’t ride it.
      No offense taken here…

      1. Danny O.

        💯% agree!

      2. Sandy

Agree 100% Don’t punish the rest of us just because you don’t like it! What if you don’t like the popcorn should Disneyland stop selling it?

        1. Jayne D Evans

Don’t like it Don’t ride it! Just because your offended by it don’t mean other people are.

      3. Ann

I liked the original. I wish Disney would stop changing things to people that feel like the animatronics are checking them out. That’s beyond stupid. If people are getting offended anyway, let’s just go back to the original.
I am curious if those women feel like they’re being ogled by other puppets in the park, or just the pirates. I hope those crazies don’t go on It’s a Small World. They’d have a complete meltdown.

      4. Dee

Totally agree. You are free to choose what ride to go on. If it offens you skip it, move on to one less offensive ( your choice, your opinion).. One person’s opinion should not dictate outcomes for others!

    3. Kim

      👍 I Couldn’t agree more !

  4. DSP

Stop the nonsense or there will be no one there to be offended in the near future. Disney is letting ‘fans’ like this kill the golden goose that is the Disney we grew up with/ It’s entertainment – if you don’t like it please go elsewhere so that my kids and grandkids still have the wonders of Walt to enjoy.

    1. Kim

Well said !!!! I feel the exact same way! They are RUINING the magic of Disney, everytime they change something that somebody somewhere got offended over !! There are MORE people who liked the original versions of the rises, than petty people who get offended over absolutely everything, so majority should rule !!

  5. Ag

The comments by “some women” are so stupid and yet saddening, but indicative of society today that an animations ride can “trigger” someone to be “hurt” or “RAPEY”…REALLY? ignorant AND stupid…bad combination to live life that way

    1. Kim

I agree ! The majority of people want the original rides, and that means they need to put Jack Sparrow back in it ! They should never have removed him in the first place. They did that before the court hearing was over, and when it did come to a close, he won’t the case and wasn’t even charged with a crime !! I say restore the ride and put Cap’n Jack Sparrow back in !!

  6. Ashley Inman

The original, PEOPLE ARE JUST TOO SENSITIVE AND WHINY ANYMORE… just like with the haunted mansion…. JUST LEAVE THE ORIGINALS ALONE!!! Quit changing things because the whining people whine… they can just not go on it!!! Simple as that!!!!

    1. Doreen

Really it’s all in good fun, there is nothing offensive. It’s not real life!!! Get over it laugh and enjoy the imagination of Disneyland!! I love the pirates ride, one of my favorites!!! And all my family and friends too. Forget changing all the rides. And zippety doo day to you all too!!!! I loved song of the south growing up with this movie as a child on Disney on tv!!!

  7. Diane

If people think it’s weird or bothers them, then they shouldn’t ride it! Simple as that instead of bashing everything about it.

    1. Danny O.

Are you telling me that someone who doesn’t like the smell of fish & seafood should stop going to Red Lobster and complaining about the smell?! How else can they get Red Lobster to only have beef & chicken?

Uh-oh. Now the vegans & vegetarians are protesting against both Red Lobster and steakhouses for having MEAT on their menus!

  8. Pat

I like the old one better with the exception of the Johnny Depp character. I like that. I never felt like it was rapey. Nor was I offended.

    1. Doreen

      I totally agree!!!!

  9. MR Ducks

Really? another multi-million dollar remake or just wipe it out of existence entirely because a Snowflake was offended and did not like it. Get a clue, YOU do not need to like everything and the world does not need to conform to YOU. I am offended by the crap from those who have never been told no in their life and that everyone is a winner and gets a trophy. This is entertainment, you do not need to like it. Good luck in the real world.

    1. Kim

      👍👍 well said !!! I couldn’t agree more !!! Enough already !!

  10. Frieda

We like the original version. Nothing rapey about it. These days people take offense to anything and everything. If you don’t like the ride, don’t ride it.

  11. Danny O.

I refuse to take my kids to Chuck-E-Cheese. The animatronics look like they want to abduct my children! They keep moving erotically, when singing their songs on stage, to lure the kids away!

I know that they — as well as Pirates & other rides — are out to get us. How? Simple paranoia and delusional thinking proves it!

  12. Nick

Loved the original pirates of the Caribbean that my Dad and older brother stood in line for in my youth! If the ride offends someone, don’t side it ! If it’s not your cup of tea. Free will dictates that you can ride something else. If you go to the movies and don’t like it , do you go see it twice ?

    1. Beth Milligan

Thank you for your common sense.

  13. Beth Milligan

The only people who feel “violated” are those already terribly insecure, and are too easily hurt by frankly everything. I grew up in the “sticks and stones” era, and I suppose I’m made of sterner stuff. I also always thought of this ride as a baby step back into history. So I never expect it to reflect so-called modern life. When only few conplain, IT IS WRONG TO DUMP SOMETHING. Please stop with these knee-jerk reactions.

  14. Alan

    The “Original” was just fine.
The Pirates Ride is just another example of Rides, Amusements, Television Shows, Movies, Etc, that a very small percentage of people feel that it is their life purpose to complain about and call to banish from society.
The solution is simple – if “you” disapprove or despise of things such as the Pirates Ride; do not participate.
Millions upon millions of men, women, boys, girls, families of every lifestyle have, do and will enjoy Disney as it was designed…
So for the few who object – step off. Shut up and go build your own amusement park…

  15. Chris

If you don’t like the ride then don’t go on it. If the ride offends you in any way, then don’t go on it. It is really that simple. I don’t go out and buy food or other things that I don’t enjoy or like I stay away from them.

  16. MJ

If you don’t like the ride, don’t go on it. The original ride was the best. Pirates are Pirates, that is what they did. You can’t rewrite history because you don’t like it. That is what Adolf Hitler tried to do!

  17. Elda

For heaven’s sake, it’s a ride. It shows the days of the pirates. if people find it offensive then don’t ride it. Stop trying to make everything politically correct. Many of us know not to take everything so seriously and to enjoy it for what it is. It’s a ride!

  18. Leah meek-powets

I you are not comfortable going on a certain ride, don’t go on it and complain later. don’t ruin the enjoyment of the ride for those who love, enjoy it. the park is full of other rides and things to do. history wasn’t fair to different people, peoples at one time or another . trying to rewrite history to reflect modern ways of thinking , will never work. we learn from what happened, change how we deal with life, but demanding or complaining about a historically based ride when you have so many other places to go for fun in the park, is silly. let other park goers have their fun on their preferred rides!

  19. June

Put things back to where Walt imagined them. That’s when all the rides were the most fun! Stop with all the woke changing of everything. It’s just my opinion, but if YOU don’t like it, stay away! The world does not revolve around YOU.

  20. Kathy

Disney World bows to the very weird notions of foolishness. Time to put away those childish tantrums and let the rest of all enjoy what WALT built for our enjoyment

  21. The Pirates of the Caribbean Ride is my Favorite Disney Ride.
I was Disappointed when they changed the ride because the Original was so unique and represented the way it was in real life.
I still love it to this day and could not imagine Disneyland without it.
That’s one of the main reason why I go back and look forward to it!❤️❤️❤️
I hope Disney never gets rid of it!

    1. Carmen Skillman

I went to Disney for years. Loved it. I was also a travel agent who specialized in Disney travel.Disney parks were great family entertainment.I’m not going back because of all the complainers constantly wanting everything changed. Apparently they’re always offended by something. If they’re going for a good time, they need to stop looking for things they don’t like. Grow up!!! It’s supposed to be FUN!! GEEEEEZ. Don’t ruin it for everyone else. If you don’t like it, build your own park and stay away from Disney. As for Disney itself, they should stop changing all the attractions that have made Disney what it is. Walt would be so disappointed. They should be ashamed of themselves. If you’re truly a Disney fan, take your family and enjoy the parks and the entertainment. That’s what it was imagined and created for. Stop finding fault or just don’t go. Disney get your maintenance done on those rides.

  23. Lori

Give me the original Pirate’s ride over conforming to all the whiney, offended, so-called Disney fans. It’s ridiculous.

  24. Bryan Reynolds

Leave the ride like Walt made it. Leave all the rides like they were originally designed. Update the technology only. Some of us can still remember the iconic rides like Pirates and Jungle cruise the way they were in 1970 or before.

Disney needs to realize you will NEVER make everyone happy and caving to the few that complain ticks off the rest of us and shows the current leaderships regard for Walt and Roy and the original imagineers.

  25. Chris

I loved the original I thought it was funny when they tried adding food to the ladies hands I’m so sick of all this woke crap don’t like something don’t ride it or watch it plain and simple

  26. Betty C

I’ve always loved the original ride and took my children there frequently. It’s one of our favorite memories. Don’t try to change something that is so much fun and try to mold it to what YOU think it should be. Good grief, it’s just a ride not a suggestion or order to make our lives match the ride. Some people are just trying to get in the spotlight my complaining about little things. Grow up!

  27. Nigel

One person stated that she felt violated anytime she rode it. I don’t know of ONE person who would voluntarily go back to what or who made her feel that way. Like someone else said, if you don’t like it, DON’T RIDE IT!! Don’t ruin it for the rest of us.

  28. Sergio Sandoval

Good God Almighty! When will the stupidy stop? If it bothers you so much, then keep your silly butt off of it! Nobody is forcing anyone to ride any of the attractions at Disneyland. Stay the hell home!!!

  29. Michael

Kick stupid Jack Sparrow out of there and go back to the original ride. People have their panties in a twist. The original ride mirrored the song. It’s all farce, not to be taken too seriously. I doubt it was giving anyone ideas on how to behave. It was just fun.

  30. Happymomofthree

I first experienced this ride when I was 7?. It was the year after the park opened. I loved it!! I don’t like what it has become. I still ride it but don’t absolutely love it. Leave it alone.

  31. Traci

The “it felt rapey” comment is utterly ridiculous. Don’t ride it then, don’t ruin it for the rest of us that love the ride. So many people today and their ridiculous feelings. It’s a ride and one I grew up going on and not once have I ever thought anything other than joy to be on. Ok when I was a kid the drop scared me and yes I thought when they were shooting cannonballs it was real. Stop ruining the world bc you felt violated over animatronics. People are disturbed.
