Seriously people are offended by a 9 cents tax? DISNEY has tripled prices or more in the last 8 yrs. As a local I could get a 1 year pass for $100 now it is over $400 and does not include parking. Disney also started charging outrageous amounts for resort fees, and parking if you stay at a hotel. SeaWorld would have to quadruple their prices to even touch Disney prices. Also at SeaWorld you can get all you can eat or drink for very reasonable prices. The 7 seas is actually a ticketed event that has a pass for 5, 10, 15 including alcohol which explains the tax for the pass. Go to SeaWorld then go to Disney see where you get the most out of your money
Disney uses children who have a love for their characters and that parents will do things to please. Their children will pay anything to make their kids happy. Now to have to pay to park outside the hotel you are renting is insane, but people will continue to kiss the ring of Disney And they will pay whatever Disney throws at then.
I will still renew my seaworld tickets as their prices are so reasonable compared to disney and universal and they do give passholders discounts on everything and always give extras perks. So i can deal with it.
Disney do not include taxes on the pricing of many of their items. Sea World still offers the best value in Orlando. I don’t have to pay extra for rides after I have paid an entrance fee. I can get a day at Discovery Cove with all my food and drink, 14 days admittance to Sea World, Aquatica and Bush Gardens and free parking for £170 ($215). In addition to all that Sea World work hard to save and rehabilitate native Floridian wildlife. Something they don’t get nearly enough credit for. Their food, drink and merchandise is cheaper than Disney. Given all the plus points over Disney, an extra dollar or so in tax on some items doesn’t seem too bad. Some people will complain about anything and everything.
First thing SeaWorld did was go cashless so you could only use credit or debit cards and then because you absolutely have to use cards they tacked on a 9% surcharge to all purchases within the park. Passholders are supposed to get a 15% discount for in park purchases, but because of the 9% surcharge that brings your discount to 6%. We pay for that discount and now it’s been reduced.

I bought a shirt and food yesterday and they had a 5% service fee. Is this only for ticket prices?

If you go practically anywhere in Florida EXCEPT for some theme parks, sales tax is added at the cash register.
I always like it when the vendor includes taxes and fees in their advertised price, but I always EXPECT to have to pay added sales tax.

This isn’t a tax, which is imposed by the government. It is a FEE that they are choosing to charge to make more profit
