Except DEI often leads to the less qualified candidates being hired because they fall into one of the prioritized minority groups and the more experienced candidates don’t. I am not saying DEI is or isn’t to blame, but eliminating it and allowing hiring to be based on qualifications for the job and not race, gender, etc. makes sense. Of course there should be protections against discrimination, but those protections need to apply equally to everyone who can work legally in whatever country they are trying to get work in.

Except DEI helps to ensure the most skilled candidate, regardless of sex, ethnicity and religion is hired. This also ensures diverse backgrounds that improves creativity, which a company like Disney, really benefits from.

        Correct 💯%!

Chris nailed it. We really don’t know the true causes of the lackluster DEI performance.

Why don’t fans ask the former imagineers who are working at Epic Universe why they left? I am sure they know what’s going on

I have been in HR Management for 34 years and EVERY time employers have been forced by government to move away from merit and basing decisions on actual qualifications, it has resulted in damage to the organization because of hiring minimally qualified individuals over far more qualified candidates due to race and gender. But this goes beyond simply hiring, it also limits the ability of companies to recognize and reward high performers. Under OFCCP regulations that affect every government contractor, the contractor must maintain a very narrow percentage – to within 1/2 percent in wage increases between gender and race-based statistics. In other words you may have an employee whose contributions to the company, closes large sales etc. but if it moves him above a female or minority the company has to ensure that it does not reward him, or artificially increases the award of the minority or female to match or exceed his even if there is no merit to do so.

All the experiences I have had with HR departments for the last 30 years is a bunch of paper pushers who have no idea of what the job they are hiring people for entails . They just rely on some computer to tell them if someone meets the requirements or not . i had one job where we needed a welder and HR hired a guy with no experience . When asked why they did they said it was because he dressed nice . So don`t even give us that HR knows what a job takes bull .

We went to Disneyland at the end of the summer and the two mornings we did early entry, the Haunted Mansion and Winnie were closed along with Indiana and Thunder Mountain. The next morning, Winnie, the Matterhorn, Alice, and Pinocchio were closed. After reading this article you need to have a unsubscribe link for now blocking will do.

If you’re hiring someone because they think they’re someone or something else you get what you paid for. There actually is no DEI it’s called mental illness! Look it up? Thinking you’re a dog like people in Japan doesn’t make you a good employment candidate because your mind is elsewhere. As for the helicopter crash? The female pilot took off with only 3 people on board, Her flight required 4! Even if she wasn’t DEI, which we will never know, she still caused the crash and got herself and over 60 others killed by her negligence!

I think it’s funny. “Far right” MAGA (“extreme” MAGA) are so racist/sexist/anti-Pride — and “tech-bro” MAGA ate only sexist & anti-Pride. Hence the reason those that believe Musk as being the real president are fine with legal people of color.

Those that benefit most by DIE (in order of who benefits most):

    1) Females (including white)
    2) People with disabilities
    3) Black people
    4) Asian people
    5) Pride
    6) Hispanic people
    7) Native Americans

All DEI means is that one won’t be turned down based on anything that has nothing do do with the job.

The best qualified gets the job. Employers — through DEI — are ALSO interviewing those I listed. They don’t hire blind people to drive public transportation. However, a blind person CAN (because of DEI) work a job that DOESN’T require the ability to see.

“Poorly educated” (as president convicted felon Trump calls MAGA) were told DEI was only about POC being accepted as equal. They didn’t like that. Then again, “poorly educated” ARE in their cult, after all.

I didn’t realize it wasn’t typing when I was typing.

Correction: “6) Hispanic & Latino (and others from those regions) people”

It works both ways. It’s true it’s designed to level the playing field but also creates quotas which can be an unfair advantage for some more qualified people.

Oops.. I meant can be an unfair advantage over more qualified people.
