Did you know there’s a second version of Disneyland Resort in San Francisco, California? And it only costs $25 per adult to visit!
Walt Disney opened Disneyland Park in 1955. What started as one man’s dream evolved into two Southern California theme parks and five other resort destinations around the world: Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Paris Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, Shanghai Disney Resort, and Tokyo Disney Resort.
Although Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park are testaments to Walt Disney’s legacy, there’s actually another place in California where Disney Parks fans can learn about the man behind Mickey Mouse: The Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco.

Walt and Lillian Disney’s daughter, Diane Disney Miller, founded The Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco’s scenic Presidio district in 2009. It features interactive exhibits and pieces of Disney history, including sketches, music, drawings, animatronics, and even a model of Disneyland Park.
Redditor u/Rated-E-For-Erik recently shared this photo of the remarkable Disneyland Park model:

“They have so many awesome exhibits!” the Disney Parks fan wrote. “I loved seeing the motion plane camera, that thing was huge.”
“I love that museum!” u/millvalleygirl replied. “It’s also got a bench from the park where Walt once sat watching his daughters on the carousel, wishing that there were a place where kids and parents could have fun together.”

The Walt Disney Family Museum is open every Thursday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with the last entry at 4:30 p.m. Tickets cost $25 for adults, $20 for seniors (65+) and students (with valid ID), and $15 for children aged 6 to 17. Children five and under and U.S. military personnel receive free admission to the museum.
