Disney is coming off its most successful year since before the pandemic, with three billion-dollar films. Disney CEO Bob Iger rearranged the company’s film schedule to ensure 2024 was a profitable year.

However, that means that Disney will have some stinkers to pay for last year’s victory parade this year. Here is Disney’s schedule for 2025 and what to expect from the company this year.

Captain America: Brave New World- February 14

The first Captain America movie with Anthony Mackie in the title role was one of the films that Iger pushed back. Since then, the film has undergone numerous reshoots, causing fans and the media to worry about the final product.

Despite that, fans are still hyped after seeing Harrison Ford as the Red Hulk.

Disney spent over $400 million on the film, hoping for another Marvel billion-dollar payday.

Snow White- March 21

What is there to say about this? After delaying Snow White until 2025, Disney seems to be dropping this film in March and hoping that anyone will come to see it.

Rachel Zegler has done her best to offend everyone, which won’t help Disney recoup the $450 million spent on making and remaking this film.

Marvel’s Thunderbolts- May 2

The second Marvel film of the year unites sidekicks and misfits from other Marvel projects for a mission that requires them to work together to save the day. This film was pushed back twice, first because of the SAG-AFTRA strike and then because of Iger’s reshuffling.

Lilo and Stitch- May 23

Disney’s second live-action film in 2025, which no one asked for, opens this summer. Luckily for Disney, this one isn’t surrounded by controversy.

Little is known about the plot of this film, but we know a CGI Stitch will be coming to theaters.

Elio- June 13

The first Pixar original film since Elemental (2023) will hit theaters in time for the summer rush. Before Inside Out 2 (2024), it had been a while since Pixar had a hit, and this is the Studio’s only chance in 2025.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps- July 25

Marvel’s third movie of the year is another remake. But this one comes with a star-studded cast.

The latest version of The Fantastic Four stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as they try to defeat Galactus and the Silver Surfer.

Freakier Friday- August 8

Disney finishes out the summer with yet another sequel. Jamie Lee Curtis has been after Disney for decades to reunite her and Linsay Lohan, and she finally got her wish.

The duo is back as the mother/daughter team as they switch bodies and learn more about each other.

Tron: Ares- October 10

Jeff Bridges returns for the third Tron movie with Jared Leto as an AI program that enters the human world. With Tron: Legacy (2010) grossing over $400 million, Disney hopes the third movie will open strong in the fall.

Zootopia 2-November 26

Disney dominated Thanksgiving weekend last year with Moana 2 (2024) grossing over $1 billion, and they have similar hopes for Zootopia 2. With the original making over $1 billion, Disney is bringing back Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde for another dominating Thanksgiving weekend.

Avatar: Fire and Ash- December 19

Disney ends the year with a big one. The first two Avatar films made over $5 billion at the box office, and Disney hopes the third will follow suit.

Disney can expect a bumpy start to 2025, but after Snow White’s release, the company has a shot for at least three, maybe four billion-dollar blockbusters. Get ready because if this continues, Disney’s live-action and sequel train will keep rolling along.
