So many people complain that muppet Vision 3D is going away. They never supported it when it was at the park. That building was always empty. Sure they might put it on Disney + now. But very few will watch it one time and then never again. It is just something to complain about. People like to complain. Let disney refresh their rides and build new areas. Let Disney Create new experiences for us . No one wants to see the same thing for 20 years.
BS! We always went to Muppets. And there was almost always a slew of people at the showings. But by all means….let’s replace Muppets with Monsters Inc…. a cartoon that, a long with Cars, that for some pathetic reason, Disney is trying to keep these has been films alive. Hell…you can’t even find merch for either of these films outside of Disney any longer, unless you’re at a close out store or thrift store.
Can’t do that. It’s stupid and ridiculous that people are taking out everything we like seeing and doing. Fight for what we want instead of letting it go, people. Come on, seriously….how hard is that to do?!
I think they are staggering closings, so there aren’t too many attractions closed at once. They will close Muppets and start working in Monsters, while that is happening they will open 2 mew shows, Little Mermaid and the Villain show. Rock n Rollercoaster will continue to be available during that time. Once Monsters land begins to open, they can shut down Rock n Rollercoaster with Aerosmith and retheme it to the Muppets. It’s actually good business strategy.
As for the true popularity of the Muppets, yes, they were extremely popular for kids growing up between 1980s to 2000, but not too many young kids these days know about them. Nostalgia is great, but if Disney stays stuck in the past to please all the babyboomers and Gen X’ers, they are quickly going to loose their audience to other more cutting edge entertainment companies.
First of all kids don’t know about the Muppets because other crap has taken their place…and I do mean CRAP. Disney bought them – then ignored them completely. As far as “updating” ummmm the last Monsters movie came out on Disney+ in 2021 so it appears this franchise is circling the drain. Again I ask – Disney has the content and allegedly the parks are PACKED! – so why stay within the current footprint – expand if its so popular. Many Disney fans LIKE the nostalgia of the “old dated” attractions – the whole concept of Disneyland was nostalgia! But keep destroying Iger – and raising prices – more and more people will see your greed and idiocy.
Everyone has their opinion and have a right to voice it no matter how inherently crude. Some only want change just to have change. Those are the ones who destroy the past.
If change is what you want change you park selection. Better yet go to Universal.
Jim Henson is rolling over in his grave. Another WDW change by an idiot that wants to put their stamp on WDW.

Seriously? Everybody knows Aerosmith too!
I agree that a Muppets theme won’t draw the roller coaster age crowd back more than once. Smaller tots can’t ride unless they make it a kiddie coaster and then they will have really ruined an iconic ride.
From a business standpoint looking to future generations visiting the park, change to have appeal to the next generation of visitors makes good business sense. But, where’s the imagination to come up with a way to preserve some nostalgia and yet have a hook for the “newer” visitors? Why couldn’t Mayhem greet different ROCK stars so you never knew who you would see in the preshow. Kind of like Star Tours. You can have different adventures when you ride several times. As for Monsters Inc, the laugh factory is still a successful and enjoyable attraction because it doesn’t rely solely on the characters and it is still one of my favorites and I’m a 70 year old kid! As for Aerosmith, as my grandchildren said, “who are those guys?”. The pre show could use to be tweaked. They have changed just a tad. The ride is still a fan favorite but if the intent is to entertain us while we wait to ride, then let the imagineers imagine!!!!
Muppet Vision is not being removed, it’s a fake. And to those who say kids don’t know who the muppets are, that couldn’t be further from the truth. No Monsters Inc is coming and only a minority will be crying over the end of Pixar in the parks when the Walt Disney Company is broken up like Standard Oil and loses all its acquisitions.
I saw move the Muppet 3D theater to the building next to the coaster that currently has that Lightning McQueen theater that way the they can also move the ‘courtyard’ Miss Piggy fountain to that area as well. then they would have a new Muppet area
Don’t move the muppets to a roller coaster that their key future audience (little ones) can’t ride. Disney should have written new material for the Muppets or st least run the classic Muppet Show episodes and investigated making new episodes to extend the audience for this unique troupe of artists. Meanwhile, they should preserve the Muppet plaza fountain and relocate to a kid-friendly meet and greet site, where the little ones can get to know Kermit and Gonzo and Fozzy Bear.
And think about using the wonderful characters you already have! Old dies not mean worthless or are you planning on tossing aside Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy , Goofy and Pluto, too?
I wish Jim Henson had never gotten into bed with Disney. The announcement about the destruction of Muppetvision made me feel as devastated as I did the day he died.

I don’t think re-theming the Rollercoaster to Muppets is a good idea. Not for audience that will be riding that ride, but that’s just my opinion.
Ann
I think more people know the Muppets than Aerosmith. Every time I went, we’d go to the muppet show and there were always quite a few people in there.
