They keep Star Tours fresh with adding new adventures. I think that the current count is around 30. Your ride is randomly selected. On my last Disney visit (The Paris Park) I actually got one that I haven’t seen before set during the post episode 7 time-line.
My husband and teenage kids love this ride. I don’t do well with the motion, but they will ride it 4 or 5 times. Why would anyone want to get rid of a ride that has decent wait times? Last year we skipped the other Star Wars rides because my kids did not want to wait over an hour for rides that they thought were just ok. We did not want to pay an extra 120 for lightning lanes, and they like Star Tours better.
I, for one, am getting tired of all of the changes Disney has been making lately to their classic rides. I think Star Tours should stay. We have been going to the Walt Disney World parks for a long time and Star Tours is a great ride.
Star Tours has been my favorite ride at Disneyland ever since it opened. I never got tired of tge oroliginal, but the new randomized show is fun too. I always try to ride it twice.
Star Tours in Disney World Florida is going on 36 years old, NOT 40. Please keep the record straight. Secondly, if Disney is looking to remove a Star Wars themed ride, get rid of the Millennium Falcom. That ride is so lame compared to Star Tours. Star Tours is constantly rethemed and not only is it exiting, but also funny. If your not the pilot in Falcon, your staring at a board full of buttons for the deration of the ride. And then there’s the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular in Holly Wood Studio’s. Disney has completed Wokeisized the show and totally ruined it…..GET RID OF IT NOW!!!
Getting rid of Star Tours would be INSANE! Of the 3 Star Wars rides it is the best. Better than Smugglers Run? Absolutely! Better than Rise? Well at least it doesn’t breakdown countless times a day. Getting rid of this ride would be a huge mistake and I doubt that it’s even being considered.
I understand the frustration of Stat Tours being so removed from the Galaxy’s Edge. It is true that it does occupy a great amount of space that could be used for other IP. It would definitely be amazing if somehow it could be relocated at the entrance to Galaxy’s Edge, as was previously suggested.
I recently experienced Rise of the Resistance for the 1st time. I have to say after all the hype I had huge expectations. We rode it after it had been down one day, and only waited about 20 minutes. Although I enjoyed it, and thought the technology was great, I have to admit, it was a one and done for me. As for Smugglatrs Run, I may be in the minority, but I do like the attraction. No, I don’t like it enough to wait more than 30 minutes, but I usually use the single rider entrance, so it’s never a big problem.
Star Tours is reliable, entertaining, a different experience every time, a true classic and is probably the only attraction in Hollywood Studios where you don’t have to wait forever to experience it.
I have always really enjoyed Star Tours and I love the level of immersion it provides. I don’t mind that it’s not in the same place as galaxy’s edge, it’s still loads of fun.

We just returned from Disneyland and my family loved Star Tours. Road it twice. I said they should keep it.

Whomever thought this was/is a good idea is wrong. A great ride that is a must-do every visit.
