It should have been bucky to begin with. It made sense. Bucky was reformed by the end of endgame. He had a journey that was so complete that it would have been perfect for him to leave the winter soldier behind, a name covered in blood, and take up the shield.

Instead they made falcon the new cap and even in the comics it was a mid move. Falcon is already his own great character, there’s no need to change him. Mackie was his own unique hero, and the falcon was cool. Changing him to cap felt like an odd hand me down of sorts. He never felt like captain America, he always felt like falcon.

This. 100% this. It always should have been Bucky. Nothing against Falcon. I love Falcon but they should have waited and let Bucky take it over from Steve first, it would have been way more fitting.

I had a great comment, but there was a glitch in the site, out maybe my phone, and it got erased. But basically I agree with everything you said

It shouldn’t ever be Bucky. Even in the comics, Bucky gave the mantle of Cap up because he knew he wasn’t fit for it. Which is why Steve chose Sam and Bucky gave Sam his blessing.
Personally I hope it would never happen in the MCU except as some alternate universe version of Cap.

Bucky is supposed to be Captain America. It should never have been falcon. Stick to the comic people. That’s want fans want. Don’t try to change it. Buckys always got my vote.
