This all sounds like new leadership is badly needed

    The problem is two fold.

Poor leadership and therefore, a lack of vision. Unfortunately, this was from the inception of this Disney Star Wars project and how we ended up with a sequel trilogy which utterly split the Star Wars community down the middle instead of bringing them all together.

Which has caused a secondary effect: a lack of confidence. Both by Star Wars producers working to repair and restart a franchise stalled by the diminishing returns of the first trilogy which caused a lack of confidence in Disney on the part of Star Wars fandom. The Mandalorian managed to garner good will, Andor too, but other projects haven’t been as successful.

It’s rare when a franchise as big as this lose more fans upon releasing new projects then gaining, but theres a sense that its quantity over quality at this point. And with more and more mining of the legacy Expanded Universe, it’s making fans wonder if there’s an original bone in Disney’s body.

How do I feel about Taika Waititi’s Star Wars movie being shelved?

Profound joy! The man’s movies are awful…

  5. Modulok

Where do you get it that a Rey movie is anticipated? Who wants that?

It’s not necessarily needed just another Disney gimmick which they have totally alienated me from ever again coming back to liking them ever again

I always felt like it was a movie to try and fix all the lose ends of the sequel trilogy. Good idea but also bad idea.

What Disney needs to do is give back the rights of companies they screwed up and just go back to their original ways everything was better before they ever bought and destroyed companies works so if you ask me I don’t support marvel or Star Wars or nightmare before Christmas to support Disney i do it because they were better off on their own with their respective companies. Disney is just ruining everything and needs to either stop or just utterly drop out for good either would be fine by me.

    Disney Star Wars sucks balls.

Didn’t Taika Waititi ask Natalie Portman to be in his Star Wars movie, without realizing she was already in the franchise?
He didn’t know Portman played Padmé Amidala in the prequel.

Star wars…where the sequel trilogy makes the prequel trilogy look great. Disney is poison.

Is Kathleen Kennedy sleeping with Disney CEO? She keeps screwing up and gets to keep her job.

Huge corporations are ran just like our government.(USA) It’s a rich person club with no accountability and no oversight.

For all their flaws, the prequels had a great story, world building and character development, all things the disastrous sequels lack. Please, no more Disney Star Wars and no more Rey.

    1. Vhop

Totally agree with you on all counts.

    2. Johnvstarks

No they didn’t. There’s nine films. 6 of them are awful.

Didn’t like the Thor movies he did. He ruined them with too much humor and made the stories a comedy. Their world was destroyed and he makes a fart joke. Nope. Rey sequels already ruined a great franchise. I wish they were a different universe. Acolyte, straight up no. Don’t go down that path again.
Stick with good storytelling like Clone Wars, Rebels, and Bad Batch and bring back good fights like in the prequels. The script sometimes need some work, like parts of the prequels, but Hayden did a great job of portraying an awkward 19 year old. I like everything Dave Filoni does, but these sideways projects that get to decide what’s canon on their own need to check the existing canon. Looking forward to Patty Jenkins take on Star Wars. She’s done a great job with Wonder Woman.

Maybe Disney is learning that intentionally trying to piss off the fans isn’t a great plan? They’ll have to go back to just pissing us off unintentionally, through good old-fashioned incompetence rather than their more recent blatant malice towards us.

Disney seems to be compelled to fit everything into a “social Topic” Star wars has been thrown into the Disney Style of “The Disney Skism” ridiculous and lame.
Make a movie as a movie not as a sociopolitical advertisement!
Star Wars is issue a movie not a platform.

The films mentioned leave me feeling just meh and not excited. Star Wars has a lack of vision and no road map forward problem at this point. I’m looking more forward to the Disney+ series such as Ahsoka season 2,, Andor and fingers crossed maybe another season of Kenobi.

    1. Keep the Timelines going and Moving Forward as Sequels

    2. Create extra really good action packed Jedi/Sith Powers and make them extraordinary.

    3. Bring people back to life like calling upon there spirits and revive them to fight in a huge battle.

    4. It’s okay to make extra movies and just make them amazing Like Rogue One.

    5. Rey is awesome. Make her fight her evil self even as a mirror dimension.

    6. Merge all the series shows into an amazing movie as well

If the reason for the delay is to build up a hunger for a new movie is the strategy that would be one thing…. But this seems to be something else. Might I suggest that there be a trilogy that forces the light and the dark sides of the force to work together to defeat… Something from deep space that enslaves everyone. That would be something I would pay to see.
