A vehicle fire interrupted normal operations at Disneyland Resort last weekend. Images and videos of the blaze quickly circulated on social media.

On Saturday, u/canOAir shared this short video of the fire on Reddit. Disney California Adventure Park attractions like Pixar Pal-A-Round and the Incredicoaster were visible behind the blazing vehicle, which the Disney Park guest said “burst into flames.”

Another Disney Park guest, Redditor u/WestSider55, had to flee the area of the blaze as they exited Disneyland Resort in their vehicle. They said the burning car was a Hyundai Accent and shared this photo:

A Disney cast member confirmed that Disneyland Resort responded quickly to the fire and paged authorities to put it out safely. It is not known how long the blaze burned.
“I heard about that over the radio that night,” Redditor u/whyisreplicainmyname explained. “Smelled it from my work location.”

It’s unclear how long the fire burned, but no injuries were reported. The blaze didn’t reach Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, Downtown Disney District, or any other Disneyland Resort structures.
Last year, Hyundai recalled more than 3.3 million vehicles due to “fire risk from electrical shorts from brake fluid leaks.” The company urged car owners to park their vehicles outside, far away from structures until repairs were made.

A Disney Parks fan and fellow Hyundai owner said the unfortunate incident didn’t surprise them. “That checks out,” they joked.
“I had a recall notice last year and was told to not park my car in a garage or near a building because it could catch fire,” u/dks64 wrote. “Even with the engine off.”
