Why do you want to stay at Disney anything? It’s overpriced and often disappointing. There are better experiences to had than being herded about like cattle.
During my last trip to MK, the guy behind the counter at the pastry shop on Main Street scolded me for putting my money on the counter. He was very nasty and said “you don’t do that! You put the money in my hand!” I was shocked and felt like I was back in elementary school. I just said “thanks, I didn’t come to Disney to be lectured.” My brother felt I should put in a complaint at the time, but I didn’t. So rude though!
I’ve been going to Disney for 50 years and only 3 things have happened that were alarming. Once the adjacend room opened the door to our room that the housekeeper failed to lock during the middle of the night. Security came right away. I was hit on the shoulder by the double decker bus in MK and nothing was done. No apology. The worst was staying at Coronado Springs and my young teen went for a soda while we were getting food in the food court. He was accused by the worker of “stealing” and we explained that we did not know how their system worked. Not the normal going through the line procedure like everywhere else. We complained and the hotel manager never got back to us. We cancelled our stay there and moved off site. Had a difficult time getting our money back, we had prepayed the week. Never set foot in that hotel again. I even wrote to customer service after we got home and no reply!
We were at typhoon lagoon and bought the cup to fill at drink stations and all the drink stations were swarming w bees bc of the syrup from the soda machines wound up buying a bottle drink dumping it in the cup and then my child went to take a drink after playing and the cup was full of bees they had done went thru the straw into the cup notified staff and they were just like yea we are aware of the bee issue
My daughter and I had a problem with space 220 restaurant. The manager was award and told us the chef knew exactly where the plastic came from. The more and more I thought about it I called guest relations.. we have been home 3 weeks and still haven’t heard back….
They were to busy intruding on their guests privacy, doing their daily “security check” of every room (often times breaking in on nude guests & waking sleeping children)…. disney “security” is an absolute joke. Take all guests privacy & rights away: just to catch 6 people in a 5 person room.
Was at FQ after Thanksgiving and could not call the front desk. Every time I called got connected to a central call center for WDW. Had to walk to the front desk to talk to them. So it’s not a surprise that they could not get a hold of the people they needed to.
In the article it quotes the person saying that she was in her early twenties back then (when going to complain about the inebriated person) so this may have been a few years ago.
If someone was trying to break into my room I would call 911! Why waste time with calling the hotel/resort guest services. If a real emergency use 911! The 911 operators can hear what is happening and police can respond to emergencies at Disney resorts and parks. Actually they are around the area and nearby.
At Coronado they trick you with their thermostat and it doesn’t go below 75 or 74…no matter what you put it to. After sweating and being miserable and not being able to cool off no matter what, they sent maintenance ..they already knew of the issue. Maintenance comes and sees it’s over 80 in the room (they have their own thermo checker). So he overrides the thermostat so it will go lower but tells me it will only keep for three days and then it will revert back to their program. He also had to get on top of the roof and drain our lines. It was a miserable sleep. So, after ALL of this…the next night there are dogs barking next door. I call as someone left their dogs in their room and I can’t sleep. They were so loud and out of control I was wondering if someone had died in there. When I called the front desk, they said they don’t allow dogs. I’m like, umm, do you need me to record them, as they are definitely dogs and they obviously aren’t service dogs as they aren’t with their person. So they said they would send housekeeping, and yep housekeeping is outside confirming there is in fact dogs. But, they do nothing. I recorders the dogs for proof and went and asked the manager to move me again(I had just moved from port Orleans due to a kitchen problem). So the manager says he will move me to another villa. Ummm, nope, no way am I going through another nightmare of a night with a hot room and maintenance. He stared at me hard and the. Moved me to the tower and guaranteed me I would have a cool room…he did so by overriding the thermostat right when we came in. I thought, finally I’m going to be able to sleep…but low and behold the busses and their beeping were right outside the windows…It was a miserable stay…they comped us tickets but we were finishing annual passes. Oh, and the next day, the only time they actually did listen to me and showed they cared and comped tickets is when I played the audio of the dogs barking. I realized, dealing with Disney now, it seems like they don’t care unless you have photo or voice evidence.
My daughter and I used to go to Disney all the time. But we stopped going it just got too expensive. We love Florida. They’re just pricing middle class people out of the park it’s only for the rich now. It’s a shame Walt Disney’s probably rolling in his grave.
