Yes AI can be stopped and will be stopped by Luddites in Congress. AI will be banned because of Skynet and every AI company will be shut down. Corporate suits will ostracize James Cameron and blame the Terminator movies for what they see as the world being dragged back to the 20th century by eliminating AI.
