I went in the same Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland close to when it opened. I was in the back right as you were facing the front. Even as an overweight woman who should have been able to stay planted firmly in the car, I almost fell out on one of the sharp turns to the left. I never went on that ride again, and I had an annual pass.

Why didn’t they put him on the inside where there’s no door to fall out of?

I almost fell out of the ride as well when I was about 7. I was small for my age, but they let me on the ride. I didn’t know how risky it was. They need to take a look at the safety and put in better seat belts and/or doors.

I call bs on this story … it would have taken to long to transfer him to the ride vehicle and would have caused a ride cascade and rides stop!!! And Disney would not have allowed any cast member to assist with that transfer let alone touch a guest for any reason especially a disabled guest , so no this story made up hogwash ….

I think this is a fake story. I have a son in a wheelchair and never have I had any cast member help with getting him in or out of his chair. The only thing they are willing to do is hold it for you. Just curious why wait 30 years to tell a fake story.

  5. If it happened in 1995
WHY are we just hearing about it now???????

Had a quadriplegic friend ride splash mountain (only restraint was our mutual buddy bear hugging him). The look of fear in the picture was real. He later told us he lost all bowl control at that point and would never do that again.

Only rode Indiana once, when the ride first opened, though I was 34 years old, healthy and able-bodied, and used to wild rides as I was a coaster enthusiast at the time. Indiana’s not wild, but I still recall how weird the constant rough bouncing and shaking made me feel. The disabled man likely was in real danger of falling on that ride if his cousin hadn’t hung onto him. I wonder how many injuries/illnesses are reported from riding. Would not recommend it for young kids.
