I swear. You guys will stop at nothing to cancel anything. What did the Tiana re-theme bring? Nothing but a downgrade boring cheap ride. Disney needs to clean house. Bring back Splash Mountain. Why should the world lose something beautiful like Splash Mountain because someone can’t handle a ride about a rabbit outsmarting a bear and fox or a movie that took place after the American Civil War and abolition of slavery. If you don’t like it, don’t ride it.
There was no Tiana retheme. Splash Mountain is alive and well in the US. I’ll be enjoying Splash Mountain at WDW in 2046 for the 75th and the centennial of Disneyland in 2055.
What’s embarrassing for the company is their desperate attempt to erase Song of the South from existence. You can run from your past. Ain’t no place that far.
Song of the South is a good movie. It was made in the 1940s, and posses the sensibilities of that time, as any other piece of art made during that period would. The fact is, the hero of the film is an African American man, uncle Remus. He’s the only adult in the film that’s showing any concern for the children. All the white adults are to wound up in their grown up problems. Disney needs to get some balls and stop hiding this film. We can still see films like Gone With the Wind etc. from other film studios that are actually offensive by comparison, but people are intelligent enough to understand that it was made in another time, and view it through the lens of history.

Splash Mountain looks like something out of an animated feature. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure looks like a pile of leaves.
