My sister now calls the ride, ‘Rise of the Broken Resistance’. About half the time we go to ride it, it breaks down.

Next time, try the more reliable Carousel of Progress – it was 1st seen at the 1964! NY World’s Fair, as well as It’s a Small World, Moments with Mr Lincoln, & the Ford Magic Skyway ride – all Disney Stuff.
Any Disney fan should watch these youtube videos! …

If you interact with the, as if you were a rebel, then the cast members will react back in character. If you ignore them, then the basically act as any other ride cast members and get you on safely etc.
I have never seen Kylo Renn being blown out of the ship. It has always been shouting from his ship!
Also never seen the cannons move either!

Went in August and rode several times over a couple days. Always b mode kylo ren. Haven’t seen the cannons move since Sept 2020, and we go several times a year. Interaction usually good but not always great. This last time we got sorted onto the color lines and the guard looked sounded and acted like Bowen Yang from SNL. He was hilarious. He had gotten everyone sorted and they sent a few more people over and gave an exaggerated eyeroll and sigh and said “Ugh they keep sending me prisoners. Don’t they know I have tholings to do?”. W not menacing but my wife and I kept repeating the rest of the week. So that depends on the cast member you get.

I think that it isn’t that (at least some people) don’t really seem to care about the “older” rides/shows/attractions. At least that’s what it seems. You (as it was already commented about) go on some of the older rides and they’re braking down more often, the ride is broken and/or have parts about that are broken/worn out, they need to repaint certain aspects of the ride, etc. Nope…. They’re more focused on the newer stuff than the older for classical Disney rides/attractions/shows/experiences. My parents and I went a few times in June to WDW. Rise of the Resistance was working just fine. It was a 75 minute wait but, it was so worth it. The ride auctioned correctly, the CM’s were playing their roles perfectly, etc. Everyone has a bad day. Remember that most CM’s (that I’m aware of) work Monday-Sunday more than 6 hours a day. Some have 10 hour days, some 12 hours, etc. They’re in the hot weather of Florida. So, there are a lot of factors when it comes to people’s interaction with the CM’s. I’ve never had a bad experience with any CM’s. I just hope that someone at corporate would start to listen to the guests and fix the freaking older ride. These are the classics that people come to see/ride/go on. GEEZ!!!!!!

Rode this ride as of Nov 10, which was the first time my family had ridden it. It had been down most of the day and opened up towards closing time at the park. BB-8 was in the intro (snapped pics of him and holo Ray) and the transport hijacking occurred, too. The officers that took us captive were great and picked my wife out as the first to give up the secret base, which she openly confessed she would. I honestly enjoyed it, though I’m more or an original series fan than sequel trilogy. I can’t speak to the cannons, though. Didn’t notice.

The immersiveness and size of the ride is the marvel. When you get out of the transport after being captured and see that large room with all the stormtroopers it takes your breathe away, ( the first time) .The ride is just a ride. Same ride system as ratatouille with a motion simulator thrown in. I don’t think it really matters if kylo or the cannon works. I have seen both ways and is fine.

Looking forward to it closing down when Disney gets broken up and has to remove Galaxy’s Edge to avoid the licensing fees. Lucasfilm will be handed back to George’s family on a silver platter and thankfully that means no more new Star Wars movies or shows

They had Star Tours long before Disney bought Lucas Arts. So in that extremely unlikely event it wouldn’t go anywhere. I’ve seen every movie in theaters and watched all of the shows. Lucas’ Phantom Menace is still difficult to watch, although I enjoy it and the holiday special and Ewok movies are also very rough. While two of the three sequel movies don’t hold up, Rogue One and Andor are top notch. But if I were personally keeping score, which apparently I am, things seem to have improved since the Disney purchased. Also your differing opinion is very valid, we each have our own tastes, but nothing is forcing you to watch the new very financially successful entries made by Disney. You can go back and read the Lucas approved Legends content where Palpatine was resurrected in a clone body (sound familiar) or Luke fought his evil clone Luuke.

Disney absolutely is going to be losing Lucasfilm. A little thing called antitrust will break up the company. The Phantom Menace is an outstanding film and the failures Disney puts out makes it look like Citizen Kane. There will be children who will never know what it’s like to see a new Star Wars movie as due to Disney losing Lucasfilm, there will be no more new material and Star Wars will become a thing of the past like it should be. The Disney films deserve to end up erased from existence just as Marty McFly and his siblings almost were. Disney will lose all its acquisitions and that means the end of Marvel and Pixar in the parks to avoid the billions in licensing fees Disney will owe those studios which will become independent again. Disney with me in charge will be great again and be back in its place as nothing but an animation studio with some theme parks that makes every decision by asking “What would Walt do?” again just as management did for decades after his passing. Like there will be a great outcry over the removal of Star Wars, Pixar, and Marvel from the parks?

The ride was ok but for me it’s a one and done

Rise is like any other Disney attraction. They push the boundaries hard and so things are going to go wrong and often those ideas never can get fixed, or they take decades and new tech. Examples: Indiana Jones at DL had a rock fall debris from the ceiling (Ice machine that couldn’t hack the constant use) and let’s not.forget about the infamous rat branch. There’s a broken Yeti on Everest. Heck, even the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland had a failed effect when it first opened. However, THAT particular effect is an example of Disney pushing so hard that they were 50 years too early. We all now enjoy the Hatbox Ghost, something that failed miserably decades ago is now a fan fave.

Most of these may not ever get fixed, and just live on in legend. But no idea is ever completely dead at Imagineering and some day it could resurface in a better way than we ever thought.

You forgot the name it is Rise of the Stench and is also called OPERATION: CODE H!!!

The cast members are so critical to an enjoyable experience. We were there on day 1. On a later ride, a female greeted us as the transport docked and shouted instructions and insults at us and concluded with a “Disembark!” As we all stood motionless and terrified, she looked perplexed, steeled herself, and repeated more ominously “I. Said. DISEMBARK!!” It was gold, and everyone scurried out, shocked, excited, and grinning. We use that line often when we park the car now.
