I have wonderful memories of Disney in my younger days growing up. I and my husband saved Thousands of dollars to take our Disney trip 2024.
Rides were not up running about 5 in Walt Disney world.
Rides that we stood in line for about 1hr 25mins would break down. This happened 3× for us .
That basically is 7 Rides with problems the day our family was there.
This was unfortunate. My children definitely was comparing the 2 Disney parks, To our Universal Vacation that we took earlier this year.
We are a family of 6.
I really would have liked to have a much better comment, But maybe I can save our money and try again in a few years.
    I’m just not sure 😕 🤔

    1. Michelle

When a ride “breaks down” it is frustrating for sure but the way I see it is that Disney has extremely high safety protocols that keep guests safe. You don’t hear about guests dying in a freak ride accident at Disney. I can’t speak about Universal because I haven’t been there but I have felt unsafe at other amusement parks. I prefer Disney because they are so meticulous about ride safety.

      1. Bob

It actually has nothing to do with safety. Sadly its only about putting band-aids on them, cutting corners to save money, lower quality parts but worst of all is hiring not by merit but for social quotas leading to so much less quality in all aspects. I know cuz I’m one that has been doing it for 30+ years there. It’s no longer magic but just smoke and mirrors

        1. Mari

Yes, i agree with you. The curtesy, respect is no longer there from many visitors. I even worked for Disney 35-40 years ago

      2. Mari

Im really sad to see Disney go down painfully and slowly. I moved to Florida at age 25 from NY, just so I can go to Disney frequently and whenever I wanted. Which I did. I remember renting a double stroller and back than you were safe to leave stoller parked outside the ride, with all your purchased items and nothing got stollen. People had so much respect and you never heard about missing anything. Lately that’s no longer like that. I stopped going. Haven’t gone in about 10+ years, because of so many issues there. I miss the old days in Florida in general.

      3. Brian

In the past I would have agreed with you, but currently, not so much. Having been to several amusement parks I can confidently say that Universal is the current gold standard. The reason for Disney’s broken rides is lack of proper maintenance, not high standards. This is from budget and staff cuts at Bob Iger’s direction. Disney no longer has the high standards that you remember. One look at EPCOT will prove that. For my family vacation, I choose Universal.

      4. April

Lol, you do know EMTs are not permitted inside the park so deaths can not be leaked, and that all staff and characters sign NDA’s for what happens behind the scenes including park related deaths right? There have been more Disney park ride deaths then any other theme park. Google it. A man decapitated on space mountain, boy drowning in the lake, one ran over by the submarine. Sorry to burst your bubble.

      5. Raine

Hate to burst your safety bubble but Disney is not as “meticulous” about ride safety as you think and Disney visitors have been severely injured and a few have died on Disney rides.
I recall one incident where a toddler fell out of the car and onto the tracks on the Toon Town ride and if I’m remembering it right, the child was hit by another car and later died of his injuries at the hospital. I also recall a couple of incidents at Disneyland in California, one involving the Matterhorn ride and the other occured when a child fell from one of the skyride gondolas, which was the reason they discontinued the skyride. Disney parks is really no safer than Universal or just about any other amusement park, Disney is just better at keeping their deadly accidents quiet and out of the news.

  2. B

I have already booked my families tickets for Xmas 2025 for Disney/universal so will be going no matter what

    1. Gg

Disneyland is nothing anymore.unionized and higher pay makes us have to pay more. Lightning lane 400 what a joke. Had to go and take the fun out of fast passes. I thought when mr.. Iger came bk things would be good again. Maybe Elon should buy it and make affordable and fun again. We will never go bk. You have ruined the magic.

      1. Dps

It’s been expensive long before unions. Elon will make it more affordable? 😂

        1. Frank

Please don`t tell those MAGA clowns the truth it hurts their small brains .

          1. Steve

Frank. Another patient with TDS. Cry harder.

          2. Dan

            Still smarting from the loss?

        2. That’s what I was thinking! They’re going to find out in about 2 mos.

      2. Frank

You whine about Unions making them pay a fair wage . Disney employees make a lot less than you think . My wife applied there and turned down the job because they pay just over minimum . You want to know why prices are so high then try looking up what they paid their CEO this year alone and bonuses board members got . Get your head out of Donald trump`s backside and you will see that people like him are taking you for everything they can and you let them . Stop blaming the people who are working to feed their families and start blaming the people who set the prices .

        1. lorraine cramer

ALL companies pay their ceos a ton of money they dont deserve, NOT just disney

      3. KC

Yean unions are a big issue. God forbid cast members get what’s fair 🤦‍♀️

        1. GetCorrectInfo

KC, you are a dumbass. Unions don’t just magically get their member’s higher pay and everyone is happy. Those member’s pay hefty union dues and the unions shit all over their members. It’s almost like the union is concerned about their profits over the well being of their members…oh wait – that is exactly what it is.
A good friend works for UPS and belongs to the union and I have to tell you they are taking him for a ride and he definitely does NOT get out the benefits for the money that he puts in…unfortunately he has no choice (ok, he TECHNICALLY does but in reality you’d better join…)

      4. No

Disneyland has been unionized since the 50s…. Get your facts straight before spouting off with your political nonsense.

        1. S Was

Not all tru. I worked at Disney in 80/81. It was not union, but most non technical positions were minimum wage. I used to Love Disney but all the fast passes ect made it impossible for the budget minded to enjoy. I spent a entire day at the park and only got 4 rides due to wait times. Just not worth the hype anymore.

      5. LJ

Yes he will allow the white nationalists to march down Main Street

      6. PS

Right. Because when Musk gets involved, things get better for everyone. Geez. What you dream about at night?

      7. Gigi

Had had a union for decades. You didn’t know what you are talking about. You know how much that union helped Florida workers get? $15 whole dollars. My husband belonged to the union and worked for Disney for 22 years. He retired making $19.78 an hour. 22 years. Your theory has holes in it

  3. The CEO needs to be fired the park was great but every scene this CEO can in the place has gone to shits

  4. Danny O.

Does anyone remember a man called Walt Disney? I think he was named after these corporate greed parks. I believe Eisner helped with Walt’s concept of there being a “Happiest Place on Earth”. Iger was gotten rid of once. He’s back. This time, he has managed to turn Disney parks into the “Crappiest Place on Earth”.

Meanwhile, Universal has SO MANY new guests (former Disney people)! 🤣

    1. Doreen

Disney is owned in part by China! Need I say more.

      1. Frank

You would be shocked to find out how many American companies are owned by the Chinese . Even our next president is owned by them . He has almost everything with his name on it made in China . His $60 Bibles he has made in China for $3 each . His $10,000 guitars are made in China for less than $100 each . And how did you think China bought up so many American companies ? Investment bankers like J.D. Vance and most of trump`s cabinet .

    2. awabob

If Walt could see what’s become of his parks…and his NAME…he wouldn’t just turn over in his grave. He’d go into high rotation!

    3. PS

Yeah. I wonder what Mr. Disney would think about what they turned his park into.

  5. Chloe

Why should we not go in 2025 then we should not go at all times never

  6. Greg

Exactly go to Universal Epic Universe!

    1. Janet A Winslow

I like the Disney movies and characters. I will go whenever I can plan ahead get to the parks early ride and experience what you want take a break at your hotel and return for nighttime entertainment. No interest in any of the IP at universal.

      1. Frank

You do know that you can do the same thing at Universal don`t you ?

  7. Gary

It almost looks like Disney leadership is on purpose trying to destroy Walter Elias Disney’s creation !!!

  8. Jon

This is actually the perfect time to do the renovations Disney is doing. The only thing slowing down them is DeSantis. Hopefully most of this will be done when I plan my trip for 2026. If not we will wait so we get to experience everything new.

    1. Steve

Nothing is getting done by 2026 because there is no construction happening. Nothing new is coming to WDW.

      1. Lynn

Former local Ap holder who use to come, eat dinner, family of 8!!!!, take in a few rides and get home before bed. Prices now out of control, advanced park registration, no fastpass unless you PAY for them. We are not fans at all anymore. We sold our home and are moving several hundred miles away. It is more than likely we will visit Universal again, but Disney is now a money grabbing their and we will never return.

  9. Zilma A Osle

When Eisnier was there and Iger was first chosen to lead Disney things were great. Things were a lot more affordable. It was more about the guests and less about how much money can we squeeze out of people and give them less quality experiences and less quality rides/attractions. Honestly, it would have been better not to have ever gotten rid of Fastness, Disney Express, etc. Over the last 15 years (more or less) you hear a lot more about bad quality things, rides/attractions not working correctly, and the guests really acting up. If only Eisner would have at least stayed as an advisor. Things might have been better. It sucks that they’re getting rid of Dinoland USA. They could have spend that money refurbishing the ride, getting rid of the carnival aspect, putting in something else there that’s educational/fun/dino related, and maybe even make the land bigger. They could have done more rides/attractions about other dino’s. It would have been cool to get an outdoor roller coster (no inversions please) that was about the flying dino’s. Or, a water ride about the scary water creatures that lived way back then. Or, even have build the mystical creatures land. They’re about animals anyway. GEEZ!!!!!! Now were getting ip’s or Encanto, Coco (I think) and Indiana Jones in a park that should be just about animals. They could have built the Indiana Jones ride next to the stunt show. &, put Encanto in either MK on in the Mexican pavilion in Epcot. Not in Animal Kingdom. Seriously!!!!! Oh well. So is life (especially when it comes to corporations that were build to show how much people matter) but, has become more about how much money can you squeeze out of people, do things on the cheep, cut back on anything that’s about top quality, cut back on all the free perks that you got if you stayed on Disney property, etc. Maybe Epic Universe might teach Disney a thing or two about listening to your guests, fans, etc.

    1. Jen C

The reason the Dinosaur ride is changing into Indiana Jones is because it’s basically the same ride. Disney is taking old attractions and just retheming them (Rockin Rollercoaster too, but I ‘m excited for Muppets). Haven’t been to WDW in 20 years, the quality of Disneyland has also fallen. Very sad and too expensive for everything.

  10. Josh Dennison

Sadly, everything Mr Walt Disney did has been undone by corporate greed. The prices have done nothing but continue to soar. The executives live lavish lifestyles way beyond human reality while sucking the remaining life out of things. They should have stayed out of politics and did not. That has cost them. The higher they jack prices, the worse it will become. The last time we went was in 2019. It was ridiculously over priced for EVERYTHING, from tickets, to meals, to simple bottles of warm water at $7 a bottle. My children were all angry when the day was not bet because they spent more time in lines to do anything than getting to do anything. I’d say “Do better”, but the executives have shown that they don’t care. That means people such as myself select the make $165,000 a year won’t be going. We stopped buying anything Disney when they decided decided to become political and disgusting with their messages. Poor Walt, his legacy is long lost and replaced with not a Magic Mountain but a mountain of garbage.

  11. JOHN. F WEINBERGER.111

Those were all some great comments but I got one that they didn’t say when COVID struck the country ,it affected everything even Disney,so what they should have is close down everything and wait , they could have done repairs, any construction projects ,but did they No, and that’s why it’s the way it is today .

    1. Frank

Hate to tell you but Disney never stops building . Even during COVID they kept working . If I didn`t live so far from them I would be working there for the last 14 years . Disney doesn`t pay their employees all that well but the construction companies that work there do . The only thing that slowed work is DeSantis showing how much of an embarassment he is to Florida . Just as we were recovering from the backwards redneck image he plunged us deeper into it .

  12. YvonneNC

You people all make it sound like Disney is going down in flames because of their pricing, but you disregard that the parks are still crowded. Why? Because people love to vacation there. Some people, like yourselves, don’t like it enough to pay more every year, and that’s fine: don’t go. Then why do you keep reading articles about it? If you dislike it so much, spend your time reading about something else.

    1. Steve

The parks are absolutely not crowded at all. They’re ghost towns.

      1. Danny

“The parks are absolutely not crowded at all. They’re ghost towns.”

Hence the reason I told my wife’s family (who were able to book a trip to Disney World…us included) they didn’t have to get us Lightning Lanes.

I said “We’ll be fine with the rides we got to ride. I have a feeling it’ll be more than you expect us to be able to ride.”

      2. Amos

With all due respect, you could not be more wrong. The parks were PACKED last week. Uncomfortablly packed.

        1. Steve

No they weren’t. You were not there and never have been to the parks. The parks are indeed ghost towns.

  13. Arlene Herczeg

DISNEY, YOU NEED TO LOWER THOSE PRICES!!! NOT JUST OFFERING A PERIODIC PROMOTION ON TICKETS!!!! LOWER THOSE RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE PASSES!!! DISNEY, ARE YOU AWARE THAT MOST STUDENTS IN YOUR AREA HAVE NEVER BEEN TO A DISNEY PARK. DUE TO AFFORDABILITY. DISNEY, “YOU GET MORE BEES WITH HONEY” SO, LOWER THOSE PRICES!!!

  14. Arlene Herczeg

DISNEY, YOU NEED TO LOWER THOSE PRICES !!!! AND NOT JUST OFFER PERIODIC SPECIALS!!! DISNEY, YOU NEED TO LOWER THE PRICES OF THOSE RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE ANNUAL PASSES !!!! DISNEY, ARE YOU AWARE THAT MOST STUDENTS IN YOUR AREA, HAVE NEVER BEEN TO A DISNEY PARK. DUE TO AFFORDABILITY, SO, SAD. “YOU GET MORE BEES WITH HONEY” DISNEY YOU NEED TO DO BETTER!!!!

  15. Lisa

I don’t understand what the fuss is all about.

All I’m reading is don’t come to Disney World in 2025.
    Then it stops.

I went for the first time this past May and thought just about everything was wonderful.

First BIG NEGATIVE was I got hurt getting on the Finding Nemo ride in Epcot.
Not one of the 3 cast members offered medical care.

Second negative was the Character Breakfast at the O’Hana restaurant.
The Mickey shaped waffles were so small, size of a large cookie and they were lukewarm and hard.
$50 was too much for less than you get a Rooty Tooty Fresh and Fruity Breakfast at IHOP. I bet 3/4 of the money went to pay for the cast members who was dressed as Mickey, Minnie, Stitch, Lilo, and Pluto.

Otherwise, we did Lightening Lane and got to ride the rides we discussed the night before. Only one ride broke down within 2 days and was back running within the hour.

Looking forward to hopefully returning in 2026??

$1,000+ per person for 3 nights and 2 days, plus a few hundred for minimum souvenirs is sometimes a little hard to save when on a budget.
At least we drove there to WDW and had an awesome view for our room at the Caribbean Beach Resort.

Looking forward to the future new rides!!

    1. Frank

That cast member didn`t get 3/4 of the money . Most of them make about $20 an hour if they are lucky . Stop putting the blame for higher prices on the workers . Put is where it belongs on the CEO and board . Quit thinking like trump and start thinking like honest people who work for a living .

    2. Steve

There are no new future rides coming. Come back in the 2030s when a lot of old rides are back and WDW is back in the 1980s with Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar gone.

  16. d4m4s74

I booked my tickets for my first and probably last ever theme park trip to the US 2 weeks ago. Looks like I’ll have to change my itinerary and swap Disney for sea world or something.

Kind of funny, So far I’ve been to a Disney park twice (Paris), 15 years apart. Both times big Thunder was closed for refurbishments. 3/3 now.

  17. Bubba

For me and my wife we will continue to pay what we have to to go to the greatest place on earth , I’ve been going since I could remember, we only live 2 hours away and gonna least 4 times a year and stay at contemporary and grand Floridian . The most magical place on earth is our escape from daily bullshit we deal with .

    1. PS

LOL at grown ups calling that money grubbing place “greatest place on earth”. You should and spend that money on real places.

  18. Patc

Have cancelled Disney 2025 after awful Disney 2024. Money money money is all they care about. If you don’t have loads of dollars they are not interested in you. So give yourself a nice treat and try somewhere else

  19. Lilly

Prices of food and all ticket types need to come down and be more reasonable.
Covid was not an excuse to raise prices… it’s greed. People never stopped pouring in.

Changing old rides to a newer refreshed look is a good idea for some but keep the magic from those experiences instead of changing them completely to a different theme. For new ideas- those need NEW rides and spaces. Match theme by park then by area in that park instead of confusing guests or removing the nostalgia.

DAS should be for ALL types of disabilities and use IBCCES third party for screenings and once verified give guests permanent DAS instead of re-registration.

Food quality needs to improve in general.
Stop using artificial sweeteners and aspartame lemonade in all places that serve it (Minute Maid zero sugar lemonade). Bring food prices back to pre covid amounts. More allergy friendly options in more places with dedicated kitchens- especially gluten free.

Bring back more old Disney themes and characters- maybe ticketed events to celebrate specific motion pictures at certain times of the year.

Lower hotel prices… its completely unaffordable to too many people.

    1. Frank

Sorry to tell you but making things better for people with disabilities in Florida is considered Woke and our state government won`t have it .

  20. Faith

Usually try to get to Disneyland for the holidays … not anymore…. Too expensive and greedy…

  21. Jacob Allen

I liked going to Disney World since after graduating from high school. I went in 2014, 2015 and 2017.

  22. I’ve been a veteran Disney attending Disney all the time. When my mother and father were taken care of three of us as I am the older born son. And then my brother and sister are the smaller of the family of three children. I keep hearing from here a lot of things that are wrong with Disney. It makes it sad because I never got chance to do the complete everything at Disney. Because you were always at the rides you’re always at some that you could go and some you cannot go. So here I am December 6th supposed to be going to Disney. And finish something that I never got a chance to finish. I was always never supposed to go to the Space Mountain. When it was not Star Wars. And some of the things I remembered as I was growing up at younger years. I never got a chance to ride the ferry that goes out to the hotel. I really like Disney things a lot. And what is happening this year ever since we lost our home in Greece in 2009. I don’t know what to say. Because I like Disney and I like Mickey Mouse. I wish the family of Disney could finally take over and do this the right way. From what I’m understanding of I’m hearing all the negative things about Disney.

  23. B Smith

I have been visiting Disney from the UK for over 40 years. We usually fo two weeks at a Deluxe resort and all the parks. Next year we are doing neither. No hotel and no Disney parks. I’m not giving them another penny.

  24. Rob

It all started with… alcohol sales.

  25. RandyC

I have a mixed feelings and experiences at WDW currently. We are not sure about 2025. I don’t like the injection of politics, and the price increases, and endless construction. The reason for all the construction now is because they neglected maintenance for too long. The re-theming of attractions so far have mostly been half-baked. Disney’s former commitment to excellent, one of Walt’s hallmarks, is long gone. Bob Iger was quoted in an interview saying that his vision is different than Walt’s vision. No kidding! Iger vascilates between poor vision and no vision. On a recent visit to WDW a few old attractions sparked wonderful memories for me and that plus fantastic Cast Member interactions told me that even a poor leader like Bob Iger can only do so much damage to something that once was great. Iger will retire soon. Good riddance. I am hoping his replacement “gets it.”

  26. Phyllis

You won’t believe this. When my son was 1 year old we started going to Disney . He’s now 34. We have been going to Disney for 34 years consecutively: my son, daughter, husband and myself . More importantly my aunt died on the grounds of Disney in 1999 July 3. This story is so dramatic and something to be told . I brought my AAU team there when we had National bball Tournaments . So, Disney is a part of our world . It has always been a place to make memories with my family, every year . My children are married now and their spouses are now coming . Things have changed : rides, the way you can just walk in any ride has changed -you have to register to ride. You pay so much yet have to pay another fee to get in a ride quicker . Then you have to buy two sets of tickets if you want to stay all day. It wasn’t like that before. One ticket was all you needed. Disney is draining my pockets. It’s ok for me to stand in the line and just wait for the ride . But the fast lane prices are now ridiculous . There is always a scheme for more money. Just greedy. Hell, after going to Disney for over 34 years, plus sometimes 2 & 3 times in the year, my family should be given some honorary lifetime passes. Give back Disney and stop taking so much.

  27. ROGER D STEVENS

Why call it Disneyland or Disney World anymore, because it isn’t. It should be call “What I want world’ or ” NotDisney World or NotDisneyland” They are killing Walts Dream for the crybabbies and it’s racist a**holes. Not an opinion, FACTS!!!!

  28. Sandra

Very very sad 😔 Disney is no longer affordable like it was years ago.
With the Corporate greed and lack of consideration for the average family, only the well-off can afford to go now.’

  29. MR Ducks

Greed is the motivating factor for the senior leadership at Disney. People need to get their priorities straight if they are blaming cast members for becoming union and wanting a wage to live on while the leadership makes multiple millions. The cast members would not need unions if they were treated right, but Disney keeps most front line cast members on the lowest pay they can and then only part time so they save even more because they do not pay benefits. Then the leadership continually takes away things that were previously included and in some cases offers no alternative or charges plenty for whatever they call the new version. Not making reasonable accommodations for the disabled and handicapped is unforgivable.

  30. Jan

I hope Disney gets crushed. Been going to WDW for 15 years and DL for over 40 years. Everything is so different. All about money now.
The new Discriminating against people with Disabilities has basically cut me off now. I struggle so much now and just can’t enjoy the Parks any longer.
Our last trip to WDW is next month. Will let APs expire. Getting Universal passes and will use DVC to visit Universal instead of Disney. The don’t discriminate against people with Disabilities and are so much friendlier and more affordable.
The same for DL. We are locals there and are letting APs expire there. Universal Studios and the other Parks are the Best towards people with Disabilities.
Looking forward to the new Adventures in different places.
I hope Disney loses so much because of All their Greed and Lack of caring for the Guests.

  31. David

We were the ultimate Disney fans. However with the changes made over the last few years which have removed attractions that were either more adult oriented or at least enjoyable for adults replaced by kid rides and attractions made it less desirable for us. Also things like loss of the free fast pass, theme park and annual pass price increases, park reservation requirements and now large parts of several parks shutdown fir more Kidspiration we are done. We will not be back!

  32. Your Dad

Where’s the popcorn? I love how this has turned from Disney being a mess to talking about politics. When in doubt it always circles back around to America’s biggest mistake. Mr. Cheeto himself. Y’all are funny. Keep the 💩 show going. PLEASE 💋

  33. Jon

This should be called the I hate Disney site. You complain about prices and no new rides or lands and they are doing just that in two parks. I love Disbey and imo it hasn’t lost its magic. I just can’t go every year. I’m definitely thinking of holding off till the new areas are done.

    1. Steve

Wrong. No new rides are coming at all. It’s a hoax and we don’t want new rides. We want Disney to be great again and go back to the 20th century which it will when I take over and make it great again. The magic is absolutely gone and I will bring it back by bringing back things like The Great Movie Ride, Mr. Toad, Horizons, Maelstrom, and Alien Encounter.

  34. Lisa

I’m skipping Disney in 2025. Not renewing my AP. Not worth it. Will be spending that money at Epic!

  35. Elisabeth Driedger

How unfortunate for those of us who have to book our vacation time early the year before and have already purchased our Disney World tickets and flights. Our teenage grandkids may forever think that Disney World sucked!

  36. Dennis

We been at Disney every year since it opened in 71 sometimes twice a year made lots of friends in camp grounds loved spending Halloween and thanks giving with them even march for my birthday last time there 73 this place now just for the rich and not for working people and family’s or old people 74 and not a friendly place I met Walt once what a nice guy he will flip in his grave now too see this mess won’t go back

  37. Dennis

I made mistake In my comments last date there was 23 not 73

  38. Joe

I’m just here for the entertainment of some of you folks. Some of you are really crazy keep up the good work! Especially the ones that write giant paragraphs on how angry you are and how Disney has somehow slighted you haha

  39. Keifers

It’s no longer for familys and their children. It’s no longer Walt Disney. It’s for pushing a message no one wants to see or read. Its about entitled celebrity’s that talk down to fans when their woke films/tv shows fail( accusing fans of being racist or homophobic when in all realities it’s THEM that are being racist and homophobic- to fans)It’s Woke Disney. The Woke kingdom, the most Woke place on earth, where Walts visions have been destroyed, and the magic, has died.

  40. Jim

I love Disneyland and will continue to go when I can. That being said it is way to expensive for sure.
