It seems that team Iger doesn’t care about the “old” Disney fans and believes the “young” Disney fans will successfully/fiscally replace them.

Splash Mountain, Rivers of America and now Muppets either have been removed or are slated to be removed.

I guess from a “business” perspective I don’t understand. Why not just spend more money, update the old stuff and add new stuff, thereby adding capacity and maintaining both sets of customers? It would seem to be a better cost/benefit ratio.

Disney is smart to think about kids and it’s future. Adults without kids and boomers won’t drive brand recognition for the next 50 years. Kids consuming content now will want toys, and will want to see their favorite characters in parks. They will become parents and will repeat the process. As a Gen X member I recognize it’s not all about me and if Disney is smart they will think about the generational long game.

This is all not happening. There is no Monsters Inc land coming and all things Pixar are going away due to Disney being broken up. Disney needs to think about its purists only and will when I take over and make it great again. Purists are the only guests matter. Everything will be done by asking “What would Walt do?” again. Disney will focus on turning kids into clones their parents and grandparents with the same tastes. I say kids don’t want toys or to see their favorite characters. I say kids want classic Hollywood, so that’s what the’re going to get. I’m going to keep Disney stagnant and frozen in the 20th century where it belongs.

YES it’s crazy Steve! Now the day is complete. Have a good weekend crazy Steve keep on keepin’ on!

You do not ever call a military man crazy, civvie. You take orders from military personnel in the US, do you understand? Yes everything I say is true and when I take over Disney I will be the Trump it needs to make it great again. Nothing was announced at D23.

Smart? Really? When was the last time you saw Monsters Inc toys in alot of stores? I haven’t for at least a few years, except for miniatures. Meanwhile, Muppets are still sold in stores…. including Elmo, Cookie monster, etc, as are Sesame Street products. All of which are…wait for it….Muppets!

That all said, a few years ago when I was looking in stores for stuffies of Mike and Sully, I didn’t find them in the stores. But I eventually did find the set…..in a dumpster. And they weren’t the cheap ones. They were the talking ones. But there they were. It took a dumpster dive to finally add them to my collection. (And yes…I could have gotten them at DW, but they were VERY expensive there.)

Because his goal is to destroy Walt’s legacy and also destroy Disney. He has accomplished both. the Florida property is big enough “To contain all the dreams we can dream”. Iger sucks

First of all none of these things are happening. But also, when I take over Disney and make it great again, I will do so by undoing the whole Iger era and destroying his legacy to preserve Walt’s legacy. Everything will be done by asking “What would Walt do?” again like management did for decades after his passing. I’ll know I’ve done my job when if (presuming he’s still around to see it) Iger and his followers point fingers at me and echo Waternoose’s last words to Sulley, declaring the Walt Disney Company doomed because of me and incorrectly rant how “no one will go to theme parks that are stagnant and stuck in the 20th century” and that I’ve “handed the future of American theme parks to Universal.” Of course Waternoose was wrong and Iger supporters will also be wrong. Disney under me will be surviving and thriving on its name alone and yes people absolutely will visit Disney parks stuck in the 20th century that never add new things

I guess Bob Iger is doing this just for the halibut.

  3. Sharl

    Love this idea.

Could they please do something like this at DCA? The Hollywood Backlot is a dead end area with no real purpose other than the Monsters Inc Ride. Expand that; make it into Monstropolis.

    1. Steve

Never. Time to get rid of Monsters due to Disney losing Pixar. A new version of The Great Movie Ride is coming in its place. And get ready to drop in to The Twilight Zone again with Guardians going away forever due to Uncle Sam taking Marvel away.

  5. So lets keep the star wars docking bat, useless little mermaid show building and dance party area ? Makes absolutely no sense…. Oh abd let’s move the muppets to that family friendly rock’n roller coaster. Sorry but Disney is definitely run by a bunch of jackasses.

  6. Rroe

Not the first time or will be the last time that Disney makes a MAJOR Screwup. Just look at the MILLIONS they wasted on that Star Wars Themed Hotel near Hollywood Studios. Another Disney disaster. The thing is, Disney doesn’t care because we wind up paying for all their failures and there’s certainly been a lot of them. Disney experiments using our money so why should they care. Removing an iconic feature such as the Moppets will be another flop in the long line of Disney flops.

  7. Stephen

It appears the Muppet theatre will remain so does that mean a second Monsters attraction in the area?

  8. DeLoreanDude2024

Are you kidding me? Why Disney? Why?

  9. Barney

If they do something with the Muppets on rockin rollercoaster, they should have the electric mayhem playing the music

    1. Steve

You realize none of this is happening and is a hoax?

  10. Walt

Because monsters is so timely and relevant now? Last movie was over 10 years ago. Disney is over – Iger has destroyed it.

Our family has made trips to WDW since 1989 and have been members of DVC since 1998 when we started yearly visits. We have been greatly disappointed by the many changes over the past years. Favorite rides being discontinued and/or completely changed. New areas opened and closed. Obviously, Disney doesn’t care how we feel about what they want to change. Most of all, the ticket prices are outrageous. Restaurants at BW: getting rid of a great ice cream parlor and ESPN for an over-priced place with not very good-quality items. Did away with a favorite food place by the boats and Big River Grille. Maybe you should do a survey of those who are DVC members and some of the annual pass holders to see how we feel about all these ridiculous changes.

  12. Gary

I bet you Monsters will be replaced within a year it does not fit inwith Walt’s ideas !

You showed no official reliable source but cheap talk and more cheap talk from a fan who is not Disney affiliated. I don’t believe you.
