Disneyland Resort security recently removed a family from the Southern California Disney park after they were caught stealing from the Snow White Grotto wishing well. Located near Sleeping Beauty Castle, the historic wishing well gives guests the chance to leave coins that Disneyland Resort later collects and donates to charities like Make-A-Wish and Give Kids The World.

At least once a year, Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort collect money from attractions, fountains, wishing wells, and other Disney Park waterways. In 2022, for example, $30,000 was collected from around the Central Florida Disney parks and donated to Give Kids The World Village.

The Snow White Grotto wishing well lets guests “wish upon a star” and make a difference in the world. Unfortunately, some Disney Park guests were recently caught stealing from the charity donations.

Redditor u/SeijiSan77 was walking down Main Street, U.S.A., at Disneyland Park when they noticed a commotion near Snow White Grotto.

“I saw a dad holding his kid upside down over the wishing well while lowering his kid down into it while the kid was grabbing the dollar bills that were floating on top of the water,” the Disney Park guest recalled. ” The mom was cheering them on.”

The family continued until security cast members arrived to apprehend them.

“When security arrived the boy was lifted out of the wishing well with both hands full of wet money,” the guest continued. “When the dad saw the security officer the dad had a look like he died inside.”

The Disney Park guest didn’t overhear the family’s conversation with security but witnessed them escort the family down Main Street, U.S.A., and toward the theme park exit.

“I assumed that security kicked them out,” they concluded.
