Known for its World Showcase and futuristic attractions, EPCOT has long been a symbol of innovation and cultural celebration. However, Disney Park has been undergoing a significant transformation as part of Disney’s efforts to bring it into the future while preserving its core identity.

One of the most notable changes was the reimagining of Future World into new neighborhoods: World Celebration, World Discovery, and World Nature. These updates brought in fresh experiences like the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, a thrilling indoor coaster, and the opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in the France pavilion.

Additionally, classic rides like Spaceship Earth received planned updates, and the new nighttime spectacular Luminous: The Symphony of Us debuted, replacing Harmonious.

World Showcase, already a favorite for food and cultural experiences, has also seen additions like the expansion of the French pavilion with La Crêperie de Paris and the addition of new entertainment and dining options in several countries. EPCOT’s festivals, such as the International Food & Wine Festival and the Festival of the Arts, continue to draw massive crowds, offering fresh culinary and artistic experiences year after year.

Now, another exciting update has been announced, this time in EPCOT’s Japan Pavilion.

Takumi-Tei, one of the signature dining experiences in EPCOT, is about to undergo a significant operational change. Previously, Takumi-Tei was only open a few days a week, offering its luxurious omakase dining experience on select nights. Starting this November, however, the restaurant will expand its availability to seven days a week.

Takumi-Tei is known for its upscale dining that immerses guests in Japanese culture through carefully crafted omakase menus. With two main options, the Kiku omnivorous course and the Hasu plant-based course, the restaurant offers a multi-course experience with delicacies like A5 wagyu steak and seasonal sashimi.

While the price point may be outrageously high, starting at $250 per person, many Disney food enthusiasts consider the experience worth it, which shows why the experience is expanding. Of course, most are not willing to dish out more than $500.00 for a single meal for two adults, and that’s understandable.

The added availability means that more guests will have the opportunity to enjoy this dining experience, removing previous restrictions on reservation times.

The increased operational hours reflect the growing demand for fine dining options at EPCOT and the continued evolution of the park as a must-visit destination for food lovers. For those who appreciate immersive, cultural dining experiences, Takumi-Tei’s new schedule is welcome news, especially given how limited it used to be.

Guests will now have more flexibility to plan their dining experience, whether they’re visiting EPCOT for the day or participating in one of the park’s many festivals.

As EPCOT continues to evolve, it’s clear that the park is staying true to Walt Disney’s vision of an ever-changing, ever-growing place that blends innovation with culture. Whether through thrilling new attractions or expanded dining opportunities like those in the Japan Pavilion, EPCOT is ensuring that its visitors always have something fresh to experience. And with the changes continuing well into the future, it’s exciting to think about what’s coming next for this iconic park.
