“Unnamed disability”? It sounds more like he’s mentally unstable! An illness like paranoid schizophrenia can cause one to think everyone is wanting to attack him and he/she will either try to run off and hide or commit some kind of attack against them- including computer hacking!

The first thing that came to my mind while reading the story, was UNTIL the incomes between the white collar and blue collar workers are dealt with and respect is returned to all workers, things like this will continue to happen. Blame it on one’s mental instabilities but, the cause of one’s mental probablems must be dealt with because the effect is in this story!

Not knowing exactly what his ‘disability’ is it is difficult to say if it affected his actions or not. If he has been under medical care for the last three years perhaps he needs his meds updated. That is not, however, an acceptable excuse for potentially putting people’s lives at risk as he did. The fact that the altered menus were caught before being distributed is not sufficient reason to let him off. That was just luck. He needs to be held accountable for his actions and Disney needs to make sure that when someone’s employment is terminated for any reason their access has to be cut off immediately.

    Lock him up for life.

We need to do away with soft justice and bring back death penalties too.

In North Korea you get death for this.

      This isn’t North Korea, Biff.

As a parent of a child with a severe peanut allergy he should be charged with attempted murder. He did way too much to be mentally disabled. His action speak for itself.

Before reading the entire article and seeing the dates this was involved, I immediately thought of the woman that died due to an allergic reaction at a Disney restaurant. Yes, this could have been an awful situation for many if he had not been caught. He needs to pay the consequences for his actions.

I was going to say something similar. He could have killed someone.

That CM besides being fired should be arrested !

“Mental illness”! The perfect defense attorney’s excuse for his client trying to kill people. If he was smart enough to know how to wreak havoc with his computer, he is smart enough and mentally competent enough to accept punishment for his actions. There were times I was angry with my boss and believed I might not have been treated fairly. But, I didn’t use that as an excuse for trying to burn my employer. He should have put on his big boy panties and accepted the fact that he was no longer welcome to work at Disney.

This man knowingly and intentionally put countless people at risk due to his actions. To brush it off as he “thought Disney would send…a cease and desist” shows a callous disregard for the wellbeing of others and a refusal to acknowledge the severity of his actions. Someone could have died. He deserves to be punished to the full extent of the law. As pointed out, his actions are not those of someone who could honestly claim a “mental disability” and his poor excuse of such a disability is a ploy to get off Scott free. Home “detention” is not sufficient, especially when he could have access to his computer and do something similar again. Throw the book at him.

If any guest had an allergic reaction prior to the changes being found, Disney and the county the park was located in would have a case for attempted murder. No actual incident, a little harder to sell to a jury, though judging from the comments, not the commentators here. Please understand, I am with you on an emotional level, dude needs to be treated Roman legionnaire style, where families at risk get handed solid sticks and have a full 15 minutes with this evil “Just a prank” idiot. But not probably a winnable case, unfortunately.

At least he wasn’t a “nut with a gun” like the nut who fired upon Downtown Orlando on Halloween night. But yeah, if you know you have a mental disability, and you’ve seen the kind of hiring practices Disney does, don’t bother working for them. Heck, don’t even bother working at all. I don’t and I’m miserable, but I keep it to myself.
