The Walt Disney Company won a staggering 60 Emmys at last night’s 76th Awards, breaking channel records and reinforcing the Mouse’s utter dominance of the modern pop culture landscape.

According to a press announcement, Disney’s five dozen Emmy Awards were spread across its many, many media outlets, including “ABC, Disney Branded Television, Disney+, Disney Television Studios (20th Television, 20th Television Animation, and ABC Signature), FX, FX Productions, Hulu, National Geographic, and The Walt Disney Studios (20th Century Studios, Lucasfilm Ltd., and Marvel Studios).”

When you see them listed out like that, it becomes a little bit clearer how much of a stranglehold Disney has on modern entertainment. When the same company that distributes Bluey is also producing WandaVision sequels on Disney+ and The Bear on FX, what chance does anyone else have?

Disney made a number of historic wins at the Emmy Awards, including a new record for FX, which won a staggering 36 statues. Among them, The Bear won 11 awards, breaking its own record as a comedy (yeah, yeah) series for victories.

Shogun, the critically acclaimed James Clavell Hulu/FX series, was the single most-award series of the year, taking home 19 awards and sitting a new Television Academy record.

Those 19 Disney Emmys included Shogun star Anna Sawai becoming the first actor of Asian descent to win Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and The Bear star Liza Colón-Zayas becoming the first Latina to win Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

Disney has been having a difficult time at the theatrical box office in recent years and can’t seem to make streaming content profitable to save its life, but apparently, TV is hitting the sweet spot (at least in terms of awards, not business negotiations).

Which of these Disney shows have you watched?
