To each their own. I’ll stick to the original. I hear that they’re making another live one that is true to the original movie source material. That’s the one I want to see.
The juvenile and unprofessional attitude RZ had about the movie during interviews and about how she should be getting paid for wearing her dress during the strike has basically turned me off to watching this rendition of the story. Taking the “love” element out of the story and replacing it with “girl power” “this is not 1937” is intriguing at best, but actually more sterile in a way. Love has always been the answer but not this time and not with my money.

you’d be surprised at how similar it is to the original tale. like, exactly the same story, if some of the details are different. little princess disliked by stepmother/queen, runs away from killers, hides with dwarves, queen finds out snow white wasn’t killed and is living with dwarves, goes to kill her personally. gives her apple, she falls asleep and is only woken up by a price’s kiss.
if you had indeed read the original story, you might be nodding in agreement with this short version, which is actually the 1937 film synopsis.
unlike this new adaptation, which Rachel Z. has promised is a completely different story. they probably should have given it a different name too, maybe Woke Latina, or something more accurate to what she seems to depict for the story.
The dwarfs didn’t have cutesy names in the original story and there was also no singing with anthropomorphic critters helping Snow White tidy up the cottage. If you’re going to tell a story about witches who cast spells that can be broken by an osculating necrophiliac, then you should have the artistic integrity to tell it realistically.
More typical woke pablum from Iger and his merry bad of destroyers. Funny how “diversity” is vomited every time a European fairy tale is cast with a person with higher melanin levels but if the reverse happened – say a person with less melanin appeared in Black Panther or Iwaju the screeching would be deafening.
No matter who portrays Snow White, I just hope the actress is good and does a great job! But with RZ’s comments I’m not sure she did her best! I think if Disney wants to be all inclusive they should have used real people with dwarfism for the movie. By using CGI for them, they have shunned another group and I think that’s my biggest issue. Don’t be all about inclusion and then not include actors who could have done the job. Was it to save money? Who knows!
I was in the Czech Republic last week. The Bohemians are already printing t-shirts based on leaked details of the Snow White script. I’m bound for a month in Germany next week as I write this. I’m happy I’ll be out of the EU before this bigoted movie is released. I’m frankly embarrassed for our county.
How dare we disrespect Europe and its traditions and folklore. If you don’t have black folk, Woke is a non-Sequitor; none of this makes sense to them. Snow White is coming off as an unjustified attack by clueless Americans. We have the military and economic power to carry this off, so they know they can’t do anything but hate us.
Disney, the company that worked so hard not to offend anyone in the past, to create a magic place where children could feel comfortable, has begun to pump out hate. It doesn’t matter if Disney makes money on this. They will destroy their brand for years to come with this movie.
I own several of those T-shirts already, which were going for a surprisingly reasonable price on Amazon, and I plan to wear one when I attend opening night of the film’s release next year.

They instead double down l The movies, and there’s been a majority of them bomb and then they whine and blame us ,call us all,racist,sexist,etc instead of taking responsibility and learning from it. Rinse repeat lol. This one is going to bomb so hard. They have heard for the longest time, everyone express everything they found wrong with it and once again they ignored it. Quit changing beloved stories and iconic characters “for modern audiences ” and to be inclusive. Quit live action remakes. What happened to creativity and telling new stories? Do you prefer cash grabs with same titles and just swap out characters? You guys are going to continue to fail if you keep ignoring us. The only way we get through to you is with our wallet. We been staying home from majority of your movies. Can you hear us now?
