We have stayed at Port Orleans since the days when it was known as Dixie Landings. We have stayed in the mansions, and the bayou at the Riverside of Port Orleans MANY times over the past 40 years. We have also stayed, and will stay again in September, at the French Quarter Resort. It remains one of our most favorite of the Disney Resorts. The boat rides to Disney Springs are special. We have never experienced any problems in our many stays (over a dozen times) at this resort.
I have also stayed there since it was known as Dixie Landings as well as the French Quarter including last year and this year and have always enjoyed the stay. I have stayed in many of the other properties as well, although I have not stayed at All Star or Art of Animation, but know people who have . Problems happen anywhere you go and when they do the staff everywhere I have stayed address the issues. So if you could not breathe in your room (not sure if you have health issues) or just a musty smell, I am sure they would have either done a complete clean of the room or move you to a different room. Perfectly fine if you do not like the property, pick one of the many to choose from and stay there.
I’ve been going to Disney since 1972 I was ten and went many times over the past 50 plus years I stayed at a lake Buena visit resort ,the Polynesian, the old Dixie landing,Fort wilderness lodge, and carribien Beach resort and my favorite was Dixie landing and my young daughter would always want me to take her to the pool at Port Orleans bc of the dragon slide we also would go and tour the other resorts on our own eat the many restaurants thru each resort did character breakfasts at the resorts as well as in the parks my little girl is married now and I hope yto visit the parks with my grandchildren someday but I think they won’t have the same Disney experience I had things seem to be getting taken away and there’s no need for that I always felt like I went to a whole different world going to Disney just a beautiful place start keeping it cleaner and stop worrying about being woke you have abusiness to run please add more monorail tracks around property those make your park standout
