I like the Rat-keeping remark. I’m going to always think of it like that now. We’ve had security checks and they have always been very respectful and concerned if we had wedged the door open for air. I once had cause to go looking for security: I didn’t need to go far, they were already aware of what I’d seen and were ready to intervene. I was seriously impressed: one professional to another
While you are renting the room It is still Disney’s Hotel. If you are upset by the rules don’t stay at a Disney Hotel. There are plenty of time shares and condos available. As for me.. Come and check I have nothing to hide.
I see both sides of this one. While I appreciate that Disney is trying to do the security thing, I’ve also been reading with increasing frequency about personal belongings going missing from guest’s resort rooms so I understand the wish to limit/restrict who has access to that space and guest’s belongings.
I’m not sure I buy into the idea that they are simply sticking their head into the room and then leaving either as there are enough places to hide or conceal either something or someone questionable that would require actually walking IN to the room and having a look around.
I have nothing to hide either but that doesn’t mean, especially as a solo female traveler that I am comfy with people in my room with my “stuff” while I’m out even if I understand why.
At one time, I wouldn’t have thought twice about it. But in today’s climate, I question someone coming in who isn’t house keeping, just because they can. Not sure I buy the “security” reasoning. Especially with today’s Disney.
Is bob iger and the rest of disney executives fine with their hotel rooms being “checked” by mousekeepers, whoops i mean security specialists. Security specialists checking rooms daily for security reasons, not to check for over-occupancy????
