I was tired of Hulu raising its price on me. When I originally subscribed to Hulu no ads, I was paying something like $12.99/month. Then they kept raising it. I canceled it this February after having it on pause since December. It was $21.99/month. When I called them, they weren’t able to extend the pause; they asked if I’d rather upgrade to Disney+/Hulu no ads since it was $20.99/month.

I was pretty dumbfounded that I was being charged more less, but declined. I was bankrupt and couldn’t afford anything, plus in my house my sister pays for the Disney+ (my mom pays for the Netflix and my dad pays for Max… it’s just how we handled streaming). It’s just asinine raising prices so much. I can’t justify going back even if I do ever have the funds again. If I want to watch something, I just check who else has it. If it’s an original? Oh well.

I was sharing Disney with family. When they started blocking sharing, I cancelled. Just like Netflix.

I only pay for a few streaming services. If Disney or Netflix gets a show I want to see, I can subscribe for one month, watch it, and cancel.

Same. They haven’t messed with us yet and I get the cheaper package with ads but I will say the only reason I have disney + is because of the rare occasion I have small kids in the house and my daughter. If I have to choose between Disney and Hulu I’m going with Hulu. Sorry to say I just can’t see paying for a service we only use maybe once every 3 months whereas Hulu we watch all the time. To be fair we watch paramount more than anything and if there’s ever a deal on max we are getting that back. And no whining and griping about sharing on either of those yet so they won’t go the way of Netflix just yet. I’m about to cancel them all and just yank out the old firestick. Everything I could ever watch for free.

We pay $14/month for the Disney+ premium. We didn’t have Hulu attached to it, just ESPN. My children like the Disney but we are questionable on some of the content. I don’t think we would continue to subscribe if they doubled the price though. We have allot of DVDs that they children can watch instead.

  6. These greedy little T.V. Media suits have ruined the pleasure of watching T.V. by simply concentrating on the bottom line of their bank accounts, not giving any thoughts to their money whoring deeds, thereby creating havoc, crappy content, and disenchantment to the users. Streaming has always been a bad deal, and it’s only going to get worse. These suits need to bring back the old days of T.V. viewing-if you’re old enough, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

I get Disney as an add-on to Hulu, instead of the other way around – not sure what deal was running when I got this, but it seems to work for me

Just greedy. All streaming services are greedy. They’re going to lose money once everybody catches on and cancels all of them.

If I didn’t get Paramount Free from Walmart and Max free from cricket the only thing my house would have would be prime. I think prime is one of the better streaming services anyways.

Sounds like Disney is being mismanaged. I was happy when Bob Eiger returned, but not if he can no longer manage Disney appropriately.

In my opinion, the whole idea of pandering to the money grubbing shareholders is where anyone goes wrong. All of these companies should be pandering to their subscribers and their shareholders should be too. Without the consumer / customer they really don’t have a reason to exist.
