The Universal Orlando Resort in Florida is notorious for providing guests with some of the country’s most innovative and thrilling attractions. Newer additions like Jurassic World VelociCoaster and Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure consistently rank as some of the best-reviewed theme park rides globally, with several more exciting experiences on the way.

Poseidon’s Fury permanently closed on May 9, 2023, marking the end of an era for Universal’s Islands of Adventure park. The unique attraction first opened in 1999 and became a fan-favorite among guests, taking them through a mythical undersea temple filled with dazzling special effects.

Poseidon’s Fury welcomed guests one final time on May 8, 2023, before shutting its doors forever. However, despite Universal teasing that exciting things would replace the former attraction, Poseidon’s Fury remains closed and abandoned.

Twitter/X user Orlando Amusement shared a few images of the abandoned attraction, noting how long it had been since Poseidon’s Fury permanently closed.

The abandoned Poseidon’s Fury attraction at Universal Orlando remains untouched over a year later. Any replacement for this attraction would likely come after the opening of Epic Universe.
