We are visiting the park from out of state today and 100% stand with these workers. Disneyland is NOTHING without the cast members. We support a fair contract now, even if it means we miss a day at Disney.
Everyone deserves a decent wage ,no one working for such a big world famous company, should have to protest to be awarded more money for doing a job that brings Disney so much revenue
No one deserves a “living wage”, you work for wages. Your skill level and work ethic help you work your way to better wages. I worked for Disney for 8 years, part time because it was a fun gig and I liked the perks. I also knew I was working for Disney Dollars and wouldn’t be able to afford rent and living expenses on my Disney paycheck. But, having Disney on my resume opened many doors to high paying jobs.
Good for you disney employees. Don’t settle for anything less then a wage that will allow you a car payment, a nice 2 bedroom house near disney and afford all the other bills that come from living in that extremely heavily taxed area. You will need to make about $200,000 a year, or about $100 per hour.
If youre not happy with your pay, you leave for a higher paying job elsewhere or work harder, stand out from the crowd and earn more with raises and promotions. The problem with unions is they ultimately hurt businesses and prevent the business from firing under performing workers. Sometimes, there are workers that are doing illegal activities and they still cant fire them. The company has to spend thousands or even millions in legal fees just to get rid of bad workers. All these fees would ultimately reduce the number of future workers and funds to grow the business. Simply asking for more money as a group doesnt work. Increasing pay wages by state laws doesnt work. Look at the recent and even past wage increases forced by laws. Small and large businesses, many are just mom and pop businesses are forced to lay off many workers or even close their businesses. In order to grow, you have to help the business owner so they can profit. With those profits, there is more money to be used to enhance the business by growing it larger, making improvements, hiring more workers and giving more raises and promoting good workers. You cannot just simply force a business no matter how large they are to just give you more money because everyone in the group asks for it. There will be a downside when the company has to waste money on dealing with negotiations, legal fees, etc. The company will now have less to grow and improve the business and will be forced to reduce improvements, layoff workers, lower work hours for existing workers, etc. This cycle happens every time. If you look at union pay raises, they are nothing compared to the raises and promotions you can earn by working hard and standing out from the crowd. Once youre in a union, you will be stuck in your job, no independent performance raises, no promotions to higher paying jobs. You are just stuck in your current job which Im sure you dont even like. Sorry for the long post but you should think about the bigger picture before joining unions. Working hard and standing out will pay off if in the future you want it bad enough. Just my opinion. Good luck!
Sounds like another good reason to close Disneyland. California is becoming too toxic for business. I have a granddaughter that is scared to visit Disneyland and california because of all the negative things she’s heard.

If you stand with them, you would not be giving your money to the corporation they are protesting.
