My adult daughter has epilepsy, 8 different seizures, triggered by flashing lights, loud noises, standing for long periods, and heat. We have used DAS for years and this year they refused. We went last week of June and she was only able to ride a couple of rides before giving up and going back to the room. On every ride the cast members asked her the same question, “Why don’t you have DAS?” My question exactly! We are canceling a trip in November because we don’t want to waste all that money!

I went and looked at the page. A massive 25 people have rsvp’d to the gathering where they intend to have a meal and ride and ride and leave.

Where did you get this overblown idea, may I ask?

“Descend” upon? What are we, locusts?

For those who are going to complain, I’m sorry (not) if our presence in the parks is that much of a hindrance to you having a good time that you feel the need to denigrate a show of support to those of us who have been denied a previously granted accommodation, but we’re allowed to access to the parks regardless of our disabilities.

My sons have Autism and were at WDW Florida in June. Even though we received the DAS pass we discovered it has to be renewed every 120 days. The process and multiple questions made my youngest son so stressed that we only went on 4 rides and he was ready to leave. Days 2-4 weren’t much different. Some individuals with Autism have extreme difficulties with knowing how to respond to questions. It was a nightmare. The day previous we made an offer on a home in Davenport, FL. We were ready to pack up and move permanently near Disney because it WAS his favorite place on Earth. The next day, we withdrew our offer on the house.

We have visited WDW 20+ days per year since the 90s. June 2024 was our last trip to WDW.

Thanks for ruining the magic Disney.

    Now we’re “swarming” the parks.

    You know, like insects.

I’m sorry my autism spectrum disorder, which was the reason I first applied for the Disability Access Service back in February and now find myself being denied accommodation, is such a burden upon your day that you need to denigrate an entire community who are doing what they can to raise awareness to a massive problem Disney Parks has created in their discrimination against a minority.

Remember, it only takes a second and someone can become disabled. I was born this way, and I have 53 years of experience with it. I hope something calamitous doesn’t happen to you which causes you to need the DAS and then only to discover you cannot get it.
