Deadpool & Wolverine has been out for five days and it has already grossed nearly half a billion dollars. But Wade Wilson and Logan are too busy exploring the Multiverse to do any of the old-fashioned superhero stuff, like saving cats out of trees or people stuck in elevators.

As expected, the highly anticipated R-rated superhero flick, which stars Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Logan/Wolverine, is bursting at the seams with surprise cameos from characters who aren’t limited to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While we won’t reveal all the cameos in the new Marvel movie, it does feature an appearance from Elektra Natchios from 2003’s Daredevil, with Jennifer Garner reprising her role, having last played the character in the 2005 spinoff/sequel Elektra.

But if you thought Elektra’s battle against the powerful, Multiverse-ruling mutant Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin) — sister to Professor Charles Xavier, AKA Professor X — in the new movie was scary, just wait until you hear what happened to Jennifer Garner recently.

Garner, 52, attended the San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend to make a surprise appearance alongside some of her Deadpool & Wolverine co-stars when she found herself in a predicament that even Wade Wilson and Logan themselves couldn’t save her from.

In a series of Instagram videos, the Daredevil actress shared her ordeal of being trapped inside a stationary elevator at the event for well over an hour. “I could use a Wolverine, I could use a Deadpool, I could use someone,” she jokes in one of the videos.

Getting trapped in an elevator can be terrifying, but the mum-of-three, who thankfully wasn’t alone in the confined space, kept spirits up by recording the experience — which she describes 11 minutes in as being “toasty” — and singing “99 Bottles of Beer” while the group waited for help.

At the one hour-mark, Garner, like her Deadpool & Wolverine co-stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, even decides to break the fourth wall by singing Madonna’s “Like a Prayer”, which has featured heavily in the marketing for the film and also during the third-act battle in which Deadpool and Wolverine take on a horde of Deadpool Multiversal variants.

Finally, at 1 hour and 12 minutes, the group is rescued — not by Deadpool and Wolverine, but by firefighters.
