I’m a believer in “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. Changing the characters to reflect more recent movies for the younger children is one thing–but altering a huge part of the entire park negates the fact that MANY generations enjoyed this– not just the current one. Memories of childhood happiness are far more important than this appears to understand…
But in all honesty, a ride being rethemed does not equate to a change in the entire theme park. Plus, Splash was quite blatantly “broke” and it’s a shame all the problems Billy caused migrated to the ride…
I can understand your sentiment, but the park isn’t a museum and the older Disney fans frequent the park much less than younger generations. So you can’t blame them for catering to their customers.
Ah, the ride selected because of its ethnic nature to stay with the woke image that caused a ride themed after Song of the South movie to be shut down and kids deprived of the happiest song ever as they enter the Magic Kingdom.
No. They have black customers. Shoving the old south in their faces isn’t a great business decision. You can attribute it to some larger political agenda, but the motivation behind the change is more likely a move toward profitability. Watch political media much?
