I work at Six Flags Great America, we are open for the 2024 season, I don’t know where you got this information, but your false advertising the park, I will be showing this post this Six Flags Media Team, so they can have this removed, I have been work this whole season, and I would have gotten an email from Six Flags if they where closed for the Season.

You’re a regular employee. Not on the board. We (the public) don’t care about this news and neither should you. Karen.

      1. Mike

What kind of reply is this? Why would an employee not care about changes that may affect their job?

      2. Randy Smith

        You’re the real Karen!

      3. Stephanie G

And you’re not an employee either, you special needs, short bus riding, retard

        1. K

You thought you were insulting the poster, but you just insulted those with special needs. None of had was funny at all. I happen to have 2 special needs children in my life who are everything to me, and the way you paint it, is disgraceful.

          1. D

Yeah you have special needs but I’m a short man who’s balding where’s sympathy for me? Oh wait I don’t get any cause I’m white? Or cause I’m a straight man?

    2. That information was found off google.

You should be fine for creating such fake titles having nothing to do with the story. Creating such chaotic titles just to get site hits is pretty pathetic on your part and I’m just going to have to stop reading your blog and updates because all of your information is all false.

  4. Tom

So it will remain open until the end of the Season. Still close in 2024.

  5. Robert

It’s not closing great america at all.

    1. Steph

I liked the part where it said when the parks would be closing.

  6. Tom

Like the EARLIER Comment,This Is Pure Deception on Their Part to get people to read blogs like others who spread lies & deception about different Celebrities who want expose Suppose ( Skeletons in Closet stories)!!

We would love to see a little investment money in 6 flags over Georgia. It has been a dump for 25 years. It was a beautiful park in the 1970s and 1980s, but mearly a shadow of ita former glory since then…

    1. CoasterRides

Please note that Six Flags does not own all of SFOG and SFOT. Part is owned by the original owners family.

Six Flags Over Georgia like like being in the Hood. Kids walking around throwing basketball balls, football balls. Cussing out loud to each others. Then outside The park shooting, stabbing, mugging ect. Nothing nice about the park, so why visit. Google crime at six flags over Georgia. Always 3 or 4 rides broken down and never started up rest of the day. Get rid of the CEO and rest of the top people at Six Flags Incorporated.

    1. Kelly

When describing the balls used in different sports, there’s no need to say “ball” twice. They are throwing basketballs and footballs, not “basketball balls” and “football balls.” That’s hilarious.

    2. Tugg

Look at the demographics in Georgia. Then you’ll understand the getto-like conditions at SFoG.

    3. Beef Supreme

Six flags America in DC is the same way. When it gets dark there, it’s time to go home.

Six Flags obviously has a revenue shrinkage problem. Solutions to reverse shrinkage are equally obvious.
First, pricing structures and features of Season passes need greater flexibility.
Secondly, the Six Flags website is amateurish and confusing. It has successfully extinguished my desire to move from a 3 Season Pass holder to 10 for my family. I also am an enthusiastic promoter of your value proposition to others.
I am available to offer additional input if Executive management can entertain new ideas to right the course of our beloved Six Flags brand.
I am a successful business owner and graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. I respectfully hope for a response to my comments.

Do you want a cookie? Or ice cream for your edforts(

    2. Craig

Congratulations on your successful resume. I’m sure that executive leadership will look at these comments first when they entertain the idea of hiring an Operations Strategist to improve the Six Flags Cedar Fair brand. Expect that call after the merger is complete.

    3. Aaron

Wharton School? Seriously? I’m trying to make sense of your allegation of ‘revenue shrinkage’ as being culprit to this entire ordeal and highlighting your two biggest gripes, the pricing structure of season tickets and online services, to ‘revenue shrinkage’.

Perhaps things have changed but my experience with shrinkage has always been a result of either internal or external theft or administrative errors in product maintenance through regular inventorying. Are you suggesting that internal theft is the issue here/your other two urems unrelated? Or, are you categorizing your season pass and online issues as ‘revenue shrinkage’? Further, if uou are categorizing your two issues as ‘RS’, how?

    4. Baby747

The head honchos at SixFlags and Cedar Fair are not going to read this minute post. Look elsewhere.

  11. Rob

Really!? You had to resort to lying to get people to read your blog 🙄 I’d sue if I was Six Flags

    1. Levi

      Pathetic

Over the years Six Flags Great America has deteriorated to where is wasn’t worth going anymore. We had season passes for about 10 years with the food pass. But when it takes an hour to get your chicken strips and fries, it’s just not worth it anymore.

This was a nicely written press release though. Lots of buzzwords but no information on how the parks will actually improve.

    1. Jeff Hack

We were in the same boat. Decided to give the park one more try and we’re glad we did. There are several improvements underway, and the customer service this year has been excellent! I’m cautious about the merger, but if they keep moving in the positive direction that they are this season, I’ll keep the memberships.

I went to great flags great america to the water park last year, they had to close it down few times as it was dirty and someone pooped in the pool. Was a bit under whelming and really crowded. Recommend Noah Ark Water Park in Dells if you want good time at a water park.

  13. Jeffrey miller

First of all check the word forever. Forever means….
well Forever, not for a brief time for overhaul. How you got to be a reporter is beyond explanation.

  14. Wavy

Sounds like a monopoly to me

  15. BiscuitWheels

Well, even though he was spouting nonsense, “revenue shrinkage” isn’t the same thing as “inventory shrinkage,” which is apparently what your “experience with shrinkage has always been.”
“Revenue shrinkage” is simply a drop in funds and assets received, which is quite obviously the most common cause of a company’s financial underperformance. I learned that in ACCT 101.🙄 But in my experience with shrinkage, the culprit is usually a cold environment, especially water! The best strategy is to “fluff” it a little before people see, like they do for actors before their scenes!

    1. Captain redsleg

Can’t be a monopoly when you have other entities like dollywood, disney, universal, and other independently owned and operated parks…..but it is getting close to one

  16. Junious FelderJr

That’s a huge waste of money, time, and resources. We as people need to reevaluate our lives and, focus on our relationship with Jehovah God. The most important thing is worshipping God. Putting a water park in the desert is a horrible idea.

    1. Kenney

I can’t disagree with you on that. Put God first and focus on His Kingdom and then have your fun. All of this is gonna pass away in due time anyway.

  17. Andrew

They definitely thought the deal closing meant the parks were closing lol

    1. Matthew

AI cannot be left to publish unsupervised….

  18. Bryan

It never been about the number of properties or the acreage of the park, it the content and the entertainment of the park, with match thrills for all ages, Disney and Universal have a lot of IP to tap into and it will be a challenge to top them, but it does not mean they do not have market, but there margin of error is so much less.

  19. txs2stp

I live close to SFOT and drive by occasionally. Don’t see much activity. Park is clean and family friendly. My company (major ophthalmic products) hosts annual employee,/family fair at SFOT which is s awesome. Hope it stays here and improves

  20. Mangiafica

Entire press release written like an advert for naive investors

  21. Nick

Six Flags isn’t closing any parks. I noticed you kept showing Six Flags Great America? Great America is at the top of the game for amusement-parks right now. They are not going to close it for remodeling or anything. Check your sources before writing…
