Pirates felt “a bit rapey?” Seriously!! People need to stop destroying classic rides and attractions with the woke crap. If she feels like this then stay away from most rides as they use animatronics!

Thank you!! “Ogled” by pieces of plastic??! Dear God. This woman needs immediate in-patient psychotherapy.

I agree. Come on people, Don’t like it Don’t ride it. Quit trying to change things to accommodate your views. We all know from history what it was like back then. It’s called entertainment for a reason.

We have been stopped many times on this ride and have been evaluated twice. My daughter and I like to ride it now JUST to see if we can make through without stopping

If you felt “rapey” from an animatronic then 1st you’re the one with issues and 2nd your a snowflake Karen that has demented creepy and unprovoked or intentional whims from the creators. 3 you’re delusional and you should learn to appreciate history however I doubt you even learned anything in class.

WHEW! You had me worried with the headline that it was going to be down for a longer period. I’m going next week, and it’s one of my favorite rides, so I certainly would have been bummed if we couldn’t enjoy it! It’s my fiancee’s first time in Disney!!!

I believe I’ve heard it all.
I have heard of adults who were freaked out by the animatronics on the Small World ride. Pirates has always been one of my favorite rides since I first rode it as a female teen back in the 1970’s! Before all the unneeded changes. (and I am not talking about the addition of Capt’n Jack Sparrow – those I approve of! 😉) And if you follow world news, you will know that pirates still exist.
This country (world?) needs to wake up. If history offends you – do not get rid of it, do not hide it away!! Ignore it personally if you must (ignorance is bliss) – don’t burn that book, just don’t personally read that book – don’t shut that ride down – just don’t go on that particular ride…… But do not get rid of it.
History repeats itself, but without reminders of the bad that has happened, chances are it will happen again. (stepping away from politics – sorry)
Disneyland and Disney World are full of history! Fun history! And full of the future and speculations of the future!
    Let’s keep it that way!!

I’ve been evacuated from this ride years ago during the Christmas party. We were on the ride for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Thankfully they turned the music off and the lights on, but you could still hear the animatronics like the chickens and the gun pinging. We almost got to the end but had to get out near the fire scene. Saw the backstage and the park was closed so we could see the castle without the people everywhere. It was interesting.
