It’s a Walt Disney ride for entertainment, not real life. You are suppose to laugh and have fun. Disneyland and I where both born in 1955 and we love the pirates ride. If you feel it’s creepy then stay home and don’t spoil it for others.
Wow, someone is a bit uptight. Obviously, Disney take great pride in that attraction, or it would be gone by now, with all the supposed “controversy” it causes. And Jon Martinez saying how he loves the ride, what’s it matter to you? He doesn’t need to prove anything to you. Take it for what it is. His opinion.
I was just pointing out how a theme park can somehow love an attraction, I was not intending to make fun of him for liking it. I’m sorry if it came off as that.
Thank you for the clarification. I understand what you were trying to convey here. But in an odd way, Disneyland/Disney World are their own brand of living entity. Not in the traditional sense, but in a more immersive sense.
The parks bring a sense of life, with the settings of each individual area.. each set piece, each smell and sound. It creates the environment around us. In that way, it is a somewhat living thing.
Of course, I don’t mean in a breathing, sentient type of way, and cast members are necessary to keep this all “alive.” It does, however, hold a metaphorical type of love for the attractions within its respective area. Without things such as Pirates of the Caribbean, or the Haunted Mansion, would New Orleans Square in Disneyland really be what it is, or as recognizable, as it is today? That kind of “love” is more a sense of belonging and keeping a certain section alive and running. So I can see the point of saying Disneyland loves an attraction, from a certain point of view.
Sorry if I got a little philosophical here. You get my point though, I hope?
I have been enjoying the pirates of the carribean ride since I was 10 years old I enjoyed the ride in all it’s forms I don’t see anything wrong with it only people who already have dirty minds would find anything wrong with that ride leave both pirates of the Caribbean rides alone. Those that don’t like them don’t go on the rides your too childish to appreciate the rides anyways
100% That is a sick person to get that type of vibe! Unfortunately the few idiots get attention, and everything gets ruined to for the normal multitudes!
No one injured who cares! It is an old ride I can just imagine trying to get parts they probably have to make them themselves with all the daily wear and tear the parts got to break sometime I give him a lot of credit but thank you guys who repair them keep us riding and safe and don’t forget ride crue good job. Don’t look at the neg look at result all safe ride back up by next day can’t ask for anything else.
Can you please stop reporting about this ride !!!! It is not closing and when and if it actually does you can report it . It is not taped and if you think it is I have an idea don’t go on it !!! Really can not state enough how annoying it is to see the same b.s. stories
All media needs to stop talking to a few people who have issues and talk to the majority of people who enjoy the rides just the way they are. They’ve ruined one ride this year already. I hate to say it but the newer rides break down more often than the old ones.
I have been to Disney World at least 20 times with and without my children and Pirates of the Caribbean is one of my all time favorites. Would we want to change it because a few loud people think the animatronic figures are in character for pirates?
I have never felt anything either mildly suggestive on this ride, would you want to remove the dive from a dive coaster? If you don’t like a ride then ride something else.
Agree if you have problems don’t ride. Lewd, well they are Pirates. My opinion stay home and leave it to the people who live it. Don’t change it because of one person.
I fully agree. Because of one person’s negative opinion, the ride should stop running? This is a fun ride and the animatronics are not creepy in my opinion. They are creative and funny. I love the ride like many others and enjoy singing along with yo ho, yo ho. Its a pirate’s life for me. I don’t find anything offensive about it.
“ABSOLUTELY NOT!!”
This ride has been a popular classic ride for over 40 years!!
Okay, well, maybe there was a few unnecessary scenes for youngsters, or “maybe” a few pirates look at you a little odd, but …. WE’RE LOOKING AT PIRATES!!!!
Pirates have ALWAYS been known as THE WILDEST, NAUGHTIEST CRIMINALS on the Seas!!
These rides at Disneyland, Disney World, and all their other parks are for FUN FOR ALL AGES!!
If you don’t like something about the ride, DO NOT GET ON IT!!
If you see something you don’t like, TURN YOUR HEAD THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION!!
If you take your innocence on a PIRATE RIDE, then it’s YOUR OWN FAULT if you “Can’t Handle” what you see!!
Don’t Consider Ruining The Fun For Others!!
If Disney wants to add some changes, adding a waterfall and more greenery would be nice!! There are several scenes in a few of the movies that are beautiful and maybe that might help with those who can’t handle some….. “GOOD OL’ PIRATE FUN!!”
Getting really sick of the fun and lives of the majority being affected by a very few moronic spoilers. Businesses should stop caving to life’s losers.
I agree with you! It’s getting really disheartening that people have nothing better to do, in their miserable little lives, than to find offense in everything that others enjoy. Whether it be a ride moving too fast, complaining it tossed them from side to side without warning (when there’s clearly signs posted for things of this nature), or now down to animatronic figures leering lustfully at them (egotistical/vain much?)
Someone is always out there to ruin what fun others can have, simply because, most likely than not, they themselves are miserable, so everyone else should share their pain

Tortuga Tavern is across from nor adjacent to. It was only open during certain times of the year. Guess it will just be a seating area all year now until they figure out what they will do with it. That could take years.
It’s not being closed. Again, the story did not say it was “being closed”, just an overblown title to the story. You should be used to taking anything this site posts with a grain of salt.
Pirates is a Disney classic! My kids LOVED the pirates ride and they grew up in the 80s! My older grandkids also loved pirates , they were born in the early 2000s! And my 6 year old granddaughter loved it when we took her there last year! If you are going to be ‘offended’ by a ride, then STAY HOME! Don’t ruin this for the rest of us who enjoy the ‘old days!’

My favorite ride of all time. Look forward to going to Disney at both parks to ride. Love the ride and it should stay forever. If you don’t like it then don’t go on it and let the rest of us enjoy it. I go to Disney to get away and have fun and not have to worry about all the problems outside the park. Keep the ride and let the rest of us enjoy it. Do maintenance to fix any issues on it and leave it as it is.
It’s an old ride, it broke down again. Big news, I get it. But can this PLEASE be the final time you rehash the comments of that snowflake being “ogled” by inanimate objects?
Don’t let a minority of people decide the fate of a great fun ride. This is ment for any ride or restaurant or anything else in the park. Disney needs to quit listening to weird people and get back to the way it uses to be. See you in October!! Can’t wait to ride Pirates of the Caribbean.
Pirate’s of Caribbean is a must ride for me and my family Everytime I go! I have been more times than I can remember and if you don’t love it, don’t ride it! It is a great ride for the whole family!!!

For the record, the ride has not closed down and the ride and it’s creepy animatronics have malfunctioned for like the billionth time.
The tavern on the other hand…
Jade VR
Yeah, just more of the same old story hyping we’re all familiar with from this site. They really need to stop trying so hard.
Jade VR
This should read:
“Action Confirmed – Pirates of the Caribbean evacuated due to malfunction, at Disney World”
Please quit with the fabrications.
