Just a heads up River Raft Ride and Cedar Creek Mine ride are not rides that exist at kings Island. Also, Diamondback does not throw you upside down even once. Please research these things before posting the article.
There are some factual errors here. Kings Island was not built on the former site of coney Island, that still exists( although it closed in 2023). It was also recently acquired by cedar Fair, it was not built by them, and was not envisioned as a regional outpost of cedar point. There is also no mine ride at Kings Island.
Adventure express used to be a mine ride in kings island, though with ownership changes its been renamed and I’m too old to ride rides, lol, so I don’t know new name or how it changed…tho in fairness, it wasn’t about mining, more the ins and outs of Adventuring in the world. But she definitely has a few facts wrong.
Theme park guests become have a tendency to turn off their brains when on vacation. Because of this, theme parks are designed in a manner like the average guest has intelligence level of a 10 year old. You’ll find things like signage and pathways being as basic and intuitive as possible for this reason. Sometimes there is just nothing you can do to stop people like this guy.
Kings Islend was never built on the site of Coney Island . Coney Island was on the Ohio banks of the Ohio River. When they moved to Mason , it became Kings Island . Another couple errors are in this story , Cedar Creek Mine Ride is at Cedar Point at Sandusky and Diamondback rollercoaster doesn’t go upside down at all . Don’t understand writing a story without knowledge or research .
Why do people insist on going over fences and gates where their not supposed to be!! Not the parks fault, if their are signs up and he was told that they would get his keys when the ride shut down for the day!!!
Guy’s fault he was told to wait to get his keys he got impatient went into the restricted area and got hit by a roller coaster not the park’s fault he was a moron
Sad that somebody breaking off limits area policy was injured. But cedar fair has gutted some really good parks. Lots of closed rides and concessions, everything cheapened to the point of disappointment. Hopefully the merger will improve the parks. Admission isn’t cheap, but it is really expensive if the only thing inside is a memory
This new policy is wrong. It was NOT a kid who entered the secured area of banshee. It was a grown adult. A stupid one at that. More adults are doing wrong more than the kids. Why punish a group who just want to have fun?
Not the parks fault!! This guy took it upon himself to risk his own life and put other people in danger because of his own inability to be patient and do as the attendant told him to do!
People need to be aware of this my husband lost a wallet no money in it he did not climb the fence he made a report and we received in the mail the wallet it was the guys falt I hope he make it through his injuries I did I had some bad head trauma with good care with the doctors I was fine so remember this
The guy climbed two fences to gain access. He was told entry was not possible until after closing. Yet he took it upon himself and was severely injured. Now the family has got a lawyer. No personal accountability.
I agree with one earlier post – Darwin Award Winner.
I feel for the family, I really do, but it was his fault that he got hit. This is why we can’t have nice things in society and everything has to be guarded and inconvenient, because people just can’t seem to have any self control or common sense. All you have to do is follow the rules and listen when someone or a sign is telling you not to do something. It’s really not that hard. I’ve loved Kings Island since I was a kid back in the 80’s. I really hope this incident doesn’t hurt them too bad.
The park was NOT in shambles! A man disobeyed orders and signs and went where he shouldn’t have. Unfortunately, he died of Friday. His family should be awarded nothing, and in turn, should be sued for putting other people’s lives at risk.
That’s really sad. People really should use their free will to make better choices. No reason he should be dead. It was his fault, but no one wants a casualty on their watch. RIP sir.
Wow they just let anyone on the internet post anything about anything nowadays. So you know when there’s an investigation you aren’t allowed to discuss it????? Probably not it seems. In shambles??? Hahaha KI will make milllllllllions this summer and nobody will remember this man who broke the law and lost his life. You need fired for this.
Yes he disobeyed the signage and paid for it with his life. Some comments are unnecessary. Have some empathy, or respect. No matter what you say, you wouldn’t want anyone speaking about your family member in this manner.
This is all hilariously wrong and poorly written . You’ve never researched the park at all it seems because you got the rides all mixed up . Diamondback does not go upside down 10 times … it just goes up and down as it is an around 200 feet hyper coaster . Even cedar creek mine ride is not at the park … it’s at its sister park cedar point “ cedar creek mine ride “ cedar…it’s in the name .And the park is not in shambles , why would it be when the accident was not their fault but the persons who jumped the fence and was told not to do so ? It’s unfortunate that the man passed away … however , the park is not at fault in ANY way and is probably more shaken up and traumatized than anything else as a life was lost , but definitely not to blame .
We are pass holders. Kings Island has a solid safety and security plan. I always feel safe there. But this report is full of inaccuracies. About the park, its origin, the attractions, and the incident itself. Do better ITM.
Two words ” inpatient” and “Stupidity” This tragedy would have never happen if people would follow the significance of signage. DO NOT ENTER RESTRICTED AREA. What did he not understand. He’s dead because he was stupid.

Diamond Back goes upside down at all. I also don’t think ANY one of Kings Island rides go upside down 10 times.

Why punish a group who had nothing to do with the incident on Wednesday? It was a grown person who entered a restricted area. You can’t fix stupid.
