Jimmy Kimmel Stepping Down as Host of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"

Comments for Jimmy Kimmel Stepping Down as Host of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

Two photos side by side: The first could be mistaken for a guest on a late-night talk show, an adult with short dark hair, a beard, and mustache, wearing a suit and tie against a blue background. The second shows a smiling baby lying on a textured cream blanket, wearing a striped outfit with an open collar.

I will not miss Kimmel. I never liked the guy or his show. He can fade off into the sunset and be gone for all I care. Maybe if we are lucky CBS will take The View off the air too, another worthless bit of airtime.

    1. Roxanne Price

      I wholeheartedly agree!👍

      1. Wes Iteria

        You must be mean-spirited too.

      2. Dee

        Of course

    2. Crystal

Wrong network genius, the view has been on since 1997 and it is going on ABC ever since.

      1. Sher

Yep abc probably pays for them to stay on the air. Only liberal talk show hosts night and day. Bias propaganda period.

        1. Kanto what a magaego self absorbed magafaithful response. If you didn’t like Jimmie ‘s show, why did you watch it? Did you read the reason why he is pondering leaving the highest rated late night? He lives in the love lane/you in fear lane……..n

    3. Toad

Your mom says the same thing about you

    4. Lorraine I ne Fiel

The View, and Jimmy Kimmel, are on ABC.

    5. Dave 62

The only show I liked him on was the man show, and that was probably only because of girls on trampolines !!!

    6. RJ

HEY! HEY! Put a little love in your heart! Can we all just get along? What is this world coming to?? JEEZ!!!!!

  2. Mary

Glad to see he’s stepping away. Never cared for his kind of “comedy”. Hopefully he can spend his free time taking care of his family. Glad he’s gone.

    1. Roxanne Price

      Me too!👍

      1. Crystal

The best talk show ever was the late late show with Craig Ferguson and I think some network needs to bring it back..

        1. Wes Iteria

He was consistently good. He doesn’t want to come back, however.

    2. Wes Iteria

Every talk show host uses the “I’m not renewing my contract” to get more money.

  3. Mark

Hopefully the orange feloni is rotting in mara Lago and we won’t need zjimmy Kimmel to keep America informed about the extremes rights contempt for humanity. We need his voice.

    1. Maryy

I LOVE JIMMY KIMMEL! THE BEST TALK SHOW EVER. NEVER MISS HIS SHOW. I HATE TO SEE HIM GO. HE CAN NEVER BE REPLACED!

      1. Elaine

I love Jimmy Kimmel and his sidekick (im BAD with names 🙁 but his family comes first. Maybe he could still do some specials. I did like his political stuff bec its better to be laughing than mad at the news.

      2. trip

        He’ll be missed.

    2. Wes Iteria

Yeah make it all about Trump. You nutcases need to be locked away in the looney bin.

  4. Roxanne Price

I am happy for his little son but I can’t stand Jimmy Kimmel. Never watch him because of his ARROGANCE!

    1. Marilyn

      I agree.

  5. Tom

I love Kimmel. I DVR his show, and the other 2 on the big 3 and although I like Colbert and the other Jimmy, I like Kimmel the best. He’s the most human.

    1. Wes Iteria

      So you like mean-spirited bigots.

      1. Bill

        You mean like Trump?

    2. Laura

I look forward to his monologues. He’s funny and quick. I also enjoy his guests.

Of course family comes first, but I still hope he changes his mind.

      Good Luck to Billy!

  6. Barbara

I love Jimmy watch every night

    1. Wes Iteria

Has he called the police on you?

    2. Wes Iteria

You make love to your Jimmy watch every night? Interesting

  7. Jimmy Kimmel along with Seth Myers, Stephen Cobert along with Guillermo Rodriguez was my happy hour of funny away from the ridiculous & chaotic political atmosphere they made it fun, funny & so laughable how many things were screwed up they brought a ray of sunlight, cheer & laughter with their show, guests & witty to all the zingers so palatable with their insight & humorous perspective as did Johnny Carson & Ed McMann did for the late-night audiences. All three humor & perpetual comedic skits made my day more bearable with their humor, their political insight or with the serious side of politics, people’s health that life’s dark side presented, they gave us laughter & fun. If Jimmy leaves the light of light humor will be with the other comedic host to pick up your torch of your brand of humor to carry for you as their now audiences or whoever replaces Jimmy will have big shoes to fill if that’s even possible. I so like the way Jimmy got under the skin of politician & their foolishness, stupidity, ignorance or all of their lacking qualities they didn’t have but should have had. Jimmy brought to the forefront, into the light with his spotlight of those deer’s who were caught in a car’s headlights at night, with a surprise look, he did that to the politicians, stupid is as stupid does is why he brought so much laughter to people. If he does leave, he will surely be missed my me particularly.

  8. Dixie

We love watching his show! We think he is really funny. We will miss him but we have a child with special needs so I get it. We’ll just keep watching Colbert and Jimmy Fallon.

    1. Wes Iteria

Why dont you shut the boob tube off so you can take care of your kid?

  9. Chris B

“The show’s long-standing success is reflected in its ability to adapt to changing audience tastes, maintaining relevance in a competitive late-night landscape. Jimmy Kimmel’s personable and down-to-earth hosting style has earned the show numerous accolades and a loyal fan base, securing its place as a staple of late-night television in America.” Stop lmao. The late night shows haven’t been relevant since Carson.

    1. Aunt Polly

Not relevant according to WHO? Butt-hurt conservatives who take the monologue jokes personally?

      1. Torq

More likely your butt hurts with the lifestyle you live

        1. Spank You Very Much

Ooh, forget Aunt Polly. You got MY attention!

      2. Wes Iteria

Only the mentally fractured far left lunatics like political humor like mean-spirited Kimmel. It gives them a sense of self because they are just as petty.

        1. Aunt Polly

Speaking of “mentally fractured,” the M@GA cult keeps supporting the orange felon like he’s some sort of martyr or savior. They will never admit he’s guilty, because that would mean he’s made fools of them all. It’s interesting how unbothered they are by mean-spirited Truth Social messages. When their precious cult leader is making toxic negative statements about anyone he doesn’t like, mean-spiritedness is suddenly justified. Funny how that works.

          1. Kungaloosh

Imagine, if you will, a Republican Party so devoid of ethics and morals, they aren’t angry that Trvmp broke the law. They’re just angry that he’s being held ACCOUNTABLE for breaking the law.

          2. Kungaloosh

Imagine, if you will, a Repvblican party so devoid of ethics and morals, they aren’t angry that Tr*mp broke the law. They’re only angry that he’s being held ACCOUNTABLE for breaking the law. Welcome, friends, to the Twilight Zone.

  10. I, too will miss Jimmy Kimmel. I faithfully watched him. If his subjects didn’t give him reason, he wouldn’t poke fun at them. I wish him snd his family only the best 🙏🏻🙏🏻

  11. Torq

YOU did this to your son Jimbo. Your hatred and disdain has come to haunt you.

  12. Kristina Groh

I absolutely love Jimmy Kimmel! I will miss him terribly! Glad he can do this though. Family should always come first 💖

  13. K

What a bunch of not so nice folks commenting. It is painful that people don’t even try to be nice.

    1. Aunt Polly

This is what political divisiveness does. It makes some people see others as “less than human” and unworthy of empathy or compassion.

  14. Sher

I’m sure the only people they hire are liberals. I don’t listen to any of them anymore. Tired of the hateful jokes. Ha ha ha, not.

  15. Susan

Kimmel can be really funny, however, the past 8-9 years opening monologue has become very mundane since it’s always a political speech & almost always about Trump. If I wanted that, I would just watch CNN 24/7. Honestly, I’m glad he is leaving. Sorry, not sorry.

  16. Bulldbill2

    When is this effective?

  17. Thomas

Good Bye, Good Riddance Jerk Off

  18. Roy

GOOD RIDDANCE! Never liked the show!

  19. Felicia

I don’t believe this is from Jimmy, it’s from a higher up who wants him gone….. someone with power, lol guess who….lol….ps I don’t follow the crowd

    1. Felicia

Ooops I forgot, I still love the Jimmy Kimmel show as well as him….
