Comments for Dolly Parton Abandons Dollywood For Florida Following Police Investigation, Opens New Themed Adventure

A person with long blonde hair, wearing a blue and white outfit with star patterns, stands in front of a castle with spires, reminiscent of a Dollywood Drama. The background features a large fairy-tale castle and a scenic landscape at dusk, under a blue sky with scattered clouds.

    Nice ad.

I feel Dolly should stay true to herself. Dolly stay in the mountains – maybe over the mountain to Maggie Valley NC.

    1. I miss you, Dolly. Stay joyous. I have your back here in FL & United States wide as well. Enjoy your pretty morning. Lots of love, MT

I think she should introduce Appalachia with some entertainment venues. These people need some joy & opportunities.

      1. Marilyn

These people? These people are American’s with Scottish, Irish, Welsh, German Ancestry!
Dolly’s people ,my people not a forgotten people, they’re still alive and well ,most prefer the not be Global!

        1. ARJ

Exactly!! Well said!! “These people” are my people, too!

I think it’s funny every story I see that brings up the bad things that have NOTHING to do with Dolly (the car break ins) and/or says something about her “abandoning” Dollywood are all from Disney affiliated places. I do believe you’re afraid of being overran by her places. As well you should be. Between the entertainment and the PRICE I’d take Dollywood any day

    3. Marilyn

Dolly will never give up on her people EastTennessee, Florida is just another Business giving people access to her Theme Park! Great for Florida and Vacationers!

    4. Judy Cannon

I tend to agree with ‘Jan’! I personally don’t want to see you take “Dollywood” to Florida!! Those folks would NEVER APPRECIATE it like we do!

Dolly had a nughtly dinner show experience called Dixie Stampede for decades (20+years) about 6 miles from Disney world. She sold it about 15 yrs ago. The land was way more valuable than the revenue she was bringing in.

    1. DaNi B

Thank you for mentioning Dixie Stampede. Dolly suddenly announced closing and left many performers in the Orlando area within jobs. How can you write an article about her venturing into FL and NOT mention Dixie Stampede???

    2. Marilyn

She sold it because BLM’s decided to start the Woke BS ,they wouldn’t stop till she gave in , Stampede was too White for them ,they also went after Cooters General Lee exhibit in Gatlinburg!

      1. Cheryl

Your view is simplistic and leaves out the rather substantial amount for the sale of the land. However, your bigotry is in plain view. Thanks for “white”splining it to the rest of us who actually do care about the feelings of others who aren’t like us. It’s eaay to not be offended by it when it isn’t you being targeted.

Dolly being the smart entrepreneur that are do whatever it is that makes you happy and spread those beautiful wings you often wear…everything you do seems to turn out well.

  4. Mags

Pirates Voyage is a wonderful show and absolutely joyful to experience! Good for Dolly for expanding. Great for fans of incredible entertainment and hospitality!

  6. Bev

Great news for Florida Panhandle! Will give families good clean entertainment. Enjoy mountains but love the beach. Can visit both now!

  7. Arosary

Can you just write the story instead of all of the history of the place. We all know about about Dollywood .

    1. Teresa Haviland

Not everyone knows all the details and facts. Bully for you if you do, but someone else may be learning something new and appreciate it.

    2. R Firefly

The longer they drag out the story with cut and paste blather, the longer you are on this site and the more ads they can cram in.

  8. Barbara Horner

    You go Dolly.

  9. Richard Worley

Argh! Seems like a great idea to me Dolly.

  10. Tim

So how does a stolen vehicle in Pigeon Forge relate to Dolly Parton and Dollywood or that she is opening a new dinner show in Florida? She has had different venues all over, she is not moving out of Tennessee she doing what successful entertainment venues do expand. ITM you are a joke and need to get out of this old school tabloid crap.

    1. ARJ

      Exactly!!

She had a theme park here in Orlando a few years ago, closed it overnite without notice to employee’s to sell the land for big bucks, claiming she wasn’t doing that, but she did, so I think she might do it again 🤔

    1. Betty

What theme park did she have in Orlando? Never heard of it. She did have Dixie Stampede.

Closing Dreamland drive show leaves abig hole in another of people’s hearts.

We could use a theme in Nevada,Dolly Goes west, like in may west, there’s no dream to small or big for an adventurous train ride, beckoning the Truth, Love and comfort for all to enjoy, we are turning into the most fun places to live, Reno Nv, please consider, best wishes to you, For God and Country♡ and Heavens Sake, love me

What do I think of her expansion into Florida? I think if her teams of employees and experts would tell her the truth about the complete destruction of an irreplaceable part of our natural ecosystem her in Bay County, Florida by ways of their construction run off, siphoning of our lake, and murdering of our wildlife that maybe she’d find somewhere else to put her Pirate Dinner show. It’s devastating what little bit of sustainable nature we have left in these parts, after unfettered tourism and a category five hurricane that’s left matchsticks where we had forests.
Maybe one day someone will listen. Maybe someone will make this go viral so that the right people see it, to put a stop to this.

With everything going on in Florida these days, Dolly with all her love and beautiful spirit would be a welcome addition. I love you, Dolly! Welcome to Florida!!

  18. Elpoki

Pirate Show has been in Kissimmee, Florida since I can remember in late 80’s.
My parents took us there while on vacation and I later took my children while on vacation.
I don’t think Dolly is creating anything new in this move. 😉

  19. Alice

With a Pirate Theme she should come to Jacksonville Florida.

  20. Zz

She aleady was in orlando Florida. Had a dollywood there off international drive and it bombed and closed down

  21. Rienda Potts

I live 60 miles from Panama City Beach and it would be great to have Dolly’s touch there, IF common, NOT ONLY WEALTHY people can afford it. Regular people who live on social security, etc., can’t afford the usual prices of famous attractions. No matter how much we may want to. God bless you Dolly.

  22. K..Wiley

Being that Panama City/Panama City Beach, FL is my hometown, I would love it if they included in the development of this project someone who knows Bay County’s ecosystems & could monitor them to ensure no damage is done during development and long after. As a previous commenter said, we were nearly destroyed by Hurricane Michael. Try living in half your house because a tree had been ripped up & fallen on half your home, 10/10/2018 for those unable to evacuate like me & my family or those coming back to what looked like a warzone, we’ll never forget. We lost 80% of our trees, the skyline looked foreign. Now it’s about protecting what we have!

Did you forget that dolly had a dinner show restaurant in Orlando? It did quite well and I always enjoyed going. Then she sold out and it became part of the big outlet mall. She already abandoned Florida once.
