When I worked in retail, they often hid items in the undercarriage of strollers. A mother put a winter coat on a child and pushed her out the exit door. Experienced thieves hid merchandise outside of the store and return later. Disney will find their stuff behind a bush. I would be surprised if they still had the items on their person when going through the exit gate.
