Disney World and Disneyland have tons of work to do in getting people to return to their parks. I last visited Disney World 20 years ago, staying at a Pop Century Resort for seven nights. Now Disney World should be called Disney World of Extortion.
Same with Disneyland. I last visited Disneyland four years ago the week the park was shut down for Covid.
With so much added “features” at both parks, it’s all extortion.
Unless the prices of everything at the Disney parks comes down, how can anyone afford to go to the Disney parks? What’s your answer, Disney?

    1. Don Franklin

Pop Century? That’s the Disney ghetto. Try again at the Grand Floridian. There’s nothing wrong with paying for quality

      1. The last time I stayed there it was really nice. But the last few times we went we stayed at Shades of Green.

        1. Mrs Anders

Our favorite hotel! We’re both veterans and hubby has been a federal employee since he retired from active duty. It may not be the Ritz but they treat you right and try to make it accessible to families who aren’t as far along in their careers…

        2. Alesa Rosario

I just visited Disney last week and there were no shortage of people, we were walking basically shoulder to shoulder and there were many workers. Yes the prices are high but people who want to experience Disney will pay the 💸💰. Even if only one time. The workers were very polite and accommodating and there was no shortage of food, fun or visual excitement. They are for things that I don’t agree with but they do present a magical experience. I just stay away from things I don’t agree with and still have a good time and we are 50+, lol. We also went early December of 2023 and the place was packed to the brim. And guess what, the Ver Merry Christmas experience one day experience (runs through the end of the year)that you had to pay an additional $169 for on top of the ticket price, was sold out. 🤣🤣

          1. Take more of my money

Well mam not everyone has your money. There are lots of people that would love to go, but there are more important things in life than one $169. Ticket. That’s America’s downfall. The government employees get paid the big bucks and the every day common man and women have to pay the price.

      2. Mrs Anders

Yes, one can pay for quality but that’s not the issue. A family member had her wedding at the Grand Floridian 20 years ago, at great price. It was lovely and no one begrudge her. We want our daughters to have that fairytale wedding BUT while we might do that for one of our girls today if they want, no one would be able to attend! All 250 people came and stayed in a Disney hotel back then as part of the arrangement, at a reduced cost to them. That would be impossible today!
As someone who went to Disney World at least weekly for several years when we lived in Florida, and visited almost monthly after, we have chosen to stay away for thr last 15 years. Between their obvious disdain for Christian families (have you SEEN their movies?) and the outrageous prices for everything, we have chosen to boycott. This is NOT what Walt envisioned when he started all this!

        1. Denise

Ok. I’ll bite. How are their movies now not Christian?

        2. Chip

Yes they have lost their way with families that have morals….. the woke movement along with remakes of classics to make them woke turns off many many people. My family visited Disney World frequently staying at every property except Shades of Green. We will not visit again due to the anti-Christian posture they have chosen. Go woke go broke!

          1. Nunya

So just because they aren’t shoving Christian rhetoric down people’s throats they are anti-Christian? Not the same thing. And are you seriously upset they made a fictional character of a species that is completely fake a new version that other little girls can relate to because they share the same skin tone? You’re looking at this whole thing through some really narrow eyes.

          2. Ruby

Do you really know what “ Woke” means. You talking about minorities, who no different than you. You act like the only people who have morals are non-minorities. Which untrue, there are lot of people who will be going to left when God calls their names because of their so-call morals.
And what does morals and woke has do with higher prices at Disney World?

        3. Z

I agree. No longer family oriented Christian atmosphere. Anything goes!!

      3. Valerie

Way too expensive to stand in line for an hour for a 2 minute ride. I want to go on rides not stand in lines and to pay extra to get a shorter wait is a scam. Disney land is dirty and rude employees nothing more than sixflags.went once. Never again

        1. JoeNYWF64

I am never going back to D-world because they replaced the relaxing 45! min Ellen’s Energy Adventure with a 3 min roller coaster some people get sick on.
& there was never a wait in line for EEA.

      4. John

You can thank Biden voters… our whole economic system is going to hell. I have worked hard all of my life to have the great things I do have, but really have nothing much to show for it because there is always rising costs in everything. Someone always tryna get rich off somebody.

    2. Brandon Hogenson

We just got home yesterday from a 7 day vacation to Disney World and I can promise you there are just as many people there as there was 10 years ago. There is no shortage of people going to the parks. It was very crowded at all times.

    3. Walter E

Come back and tell me what you think after visiting Universal.

      1. Michelle

        I love Universal.

        1. Phil

Then go there!! We don’t care,

    4. Gt

Everything has gone up so guess what so will parks because they are effected just the same. So if you wanna go then it’s called saving. I’ve been going for 32 years and as prices went up I saved more and more and I have a family of 7 and can still afford it once a year and pay my bills and provide for my children. So extortion I think not. It’s a business and businesses are about money and putting money out Into the economy keeps it going. Circle of life!

  2. David

    Parks are still busy.

    1. Sherman

From what I’ve been seeing, Disney World’s attendance is low and expected to drop even lower.

  3. Everyone

It’s a freak fest full of abusive woke adults with no children.

    1. Adults way over weight, dressing like they think they r a size 4 princess! There r things none of us should be able to see with our kids! Not sexy, plain ass nasty! Sure hope you read this!

      1. John De

        🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

      2. Joy

Yes. Disney has embraced Pride month in June. Most families I know, that is a major turn off.

        1. M

I agree with you. The woke movement is a huge ABSOLUTELY NOT. Supposed to be a family park. Not so much anymore.

          1. Use to go every year, refuse to spend that kind of money they’re charging now! My daughter took her young children for 1st time in February & the cost looks more like a down payment for a car, insane. Then the fact that you have to schedule the rides… asinine!!

      3. Mrs Anders

Thank you for your comment. I agree with you wholeheartedly. It almost seems that the farther one gets to the left, the less they are able to see reality. It was bad enough 25 years ago when stretch pants got more popular. When they started selling them in 5x for actual street clothes, more 5x folks decided they wore a medium! I don’t want to see it, my daughter, who is “fluffy” doesn’t want to see it either! It isn’t bias, it’s a wish to be able to choke down the tiny overpriced food that would be put on my plate if I went there!

    2. M

Who would want their children to experience ANYTHING “woke”??? Further indication of the deck line of western civilization.

    3. Mrs Anders

      Amen, Amen and Amen!

I remember when they didn’t allow t-shirts with a bad message into the park and if you cut in line or acted out you were thrown out of the park! Now, if you bring a child into the park you’re going to have to blindfold them and put in earplugs to keep from having to explain things to a child the shouldn’t have to be burdened with subjects best saved for years later! I don’t care what people do in their private lives, I shouldn’t have to have it shoved in my face when I’m trying to have a vacation with CHILDREN.

      1. WDW Member

No, it isn’t. You sound like you’re parroting talking pointswhat do stretch pants have to do

    4. Stephanie

      Thank you

  4. Mike snyil

Disney was always pricey but the greed has finally won out. Top that with a far left agenda to downplay basic family values and you turn away even more potential visitors.

    1. Renee

      Spot on!

    2. You are so right. That and how many people have to hold up their Apple Tablets to film the parade and fireworks.
We last went to Disneyland Orlando in 2018 and treated ourselves to Wilderness lodge for 12 nights. Now we could not afford New Orleans accommodation package at over £15,000 going May or September and we don’t get the free pass or can even guarantee getting the DAS pass though i am in a wheelchair and have a number of other health issues which preclude me sitting in a queue for 2 hours+ per ride. So Disney supposed to be inclusive has become Disney exclusive to able bodied people.

      1. Ami

If the quality matched the price, I think more people would be willing to go. There seems to be no dress code as previously mentioned and workers seem like, well workers, not cast members as they once did.

        1. Linda

When Walt created Disney, it was to be an affordable place for families. Today you need to be rich or go into debt to bring your family.
I know people who work there and I know that they don’t make alot of money. There are also many students who work there for a semester.
Since they don’t make much money who is getting all the profits??

      2. Mrs Anders

I am in an electric wheelchair. I am not malingering but Disney has made it impossible for us to have a pleasant experience there. Both my husband and I are veterans and we always ask if there’s a Military discount. Universal Studio’s actually took great care of us. They seem to actually appreciate us and have provided many benefits. We go there. We stay at one of the three best hotels and spend most of the time in the park. There are a couple of things we don’t like but for the most part, our kids/grandkids aren’t assaulted by woke garbage and people who start to get out of line are corrected or removed. That hasn’t happened at Disney for over 15 years! Walt must be spinning in his grave…

      3. Douglas

        Too many abused DAS

      4. Mary

My husband, in wheelchair went to handicap lanes. Treated well and sensitively.

  5. It’s been many years since I went to Disney Land and Disney World. When I was there I was told by the staff that there was a very high bar set for the staff to keep the site spotless and to go the distance or further to help and or assist everyone visiting the park. If the staff failed in any way they were let go! When I took my daughter age 12 we had such a good time and the expense was acceptable not like it is today! Security made sure everyone was covered and able to have a safe and great time! Today I would never go to Disney parks as I would fear for my life with all the queers and faggots woke people that they now entertain for the sake of a dollar!!! I’m sure Walt is turning in his grave watching his beautiful parks going down the drain and becoming a pit of filth and full of degenerate people SORRY WALT but greed has taken over your dream and all the wonderful exciting adventures that use to be for everyone of those kids!!!

  6. Paisley

It’s tue I would have to agree with your all

  7. Values just don’t seem to matter anymore. Very sad 😭

First… Walt Disney dreamed of Disneyland as a park for parents and their children to enjoy together. Unfortunately, Walt didn’t fully get to see the fruits of his labor – those kids growing up and coming back with their kids, and their kids too, and then the kids turned adult without children who come just. because. they. LOVE. it. Walt didn’t get to think that far ahead… kids growing up and coming on their own… but I can say he probably would’ve, if he had survived. Walt understood the child that is in ALL of us, no matter the age. You know what? That’s ok. We’re supposed to enjoy life and be kids again at Disney. Nothing wrong with it. Too many adults who grump and grouse forget that. The vacation you plan isn’t necessarily for your kids but for you… and if things don’t go your way… Disney is a terrible place, right? Wrong. Very wrong. We all have to learn to go with the flow… listen to our kids when they say they’re tired. Go back to the resort pools. Sit in the park, in the shade, and watch the world go by. Play games with your kids… ‘how many people can you find with red sneakers?’ (That was my kids’ game) Don’t feel so entitled. No one is getting any more or less than you are getting. We’ll all get to where we want to be and we can do it without pushing, arguing, complaining… you know, the way we teach our children not to behave. Be gracious. Respectful. Happy. Yes, it IS a place to be happy. Yes, it costs $ but so does every other park you bring yourself and your kids or just yourself & your spouse or your date. Living nearby Disney, I can assure you, Disney gives you more for your money than most parks around here. I can also assure you that it’s busy in the parks – all the parks. I have someone close who works there and says Epcot was packed today. Heat and $$ aren’t keeping people away. That reminds me – be nice to the cast members. They’re good people trying to help you enjoy your visit. Please understand there are corporate rules they’ve got to follow too. They don’t write or create the rules, but they do have to enforce them. Remember they are people too. Stay “woke” –

    1. Luli

Well said, 👏👏👏 thank you. I was going to comment and then read some comments and realized this was just another political piece.

    2. Lissa

Oh thank you! I was reading some of the and was like… Uhhhhm… Your comment gave me hope

    3. Right on, well said. Peace.

  9. Jeffrey miller

Don’t know where you get your information but the parks are quite busy. Hotels or resorts are busy also. Just because lines are not 2hrs doesn’t mean it’s not busy.

  10. Jake

I have property with DVC, and getting harder and harder to get full weeks, because they are already booked. You can raise the ticket to $1000 and people will still come, you have understand that a huge attendance aren’t from America.
I’m sorry who wrote this had a bad experience, but Disney isn’t hurting. I hope you change your way of thinking and say more positive stories. The Magic will always be there, even for the non-believers.

    1. AH

Disney us hurting as a corporation. The parks division is the only profitable part and is keeping the whole thing from sinking.

  11. Dick

I have loved Disney in the past. However, the last visit was terrible. Forced to buy tickets and then reserve specific dates ahead of time. Magic Kingdom park hours were scheduled into the evening. However, we were told to leave the park at 4 pm to allow new paying customers to come in at 4. If we had known ahead of time we would have scheduled accordingly. How is it legal to charge full price for half day attendance, TWICE?

  12. Mame

To be fair, when Disney first opened, your ticket just got you in the door. You had to pay extra for the rides.

They are still plenty busy, including all the folks who want to act scandalized by Disney’s commitment to equity and inclusion.

    1. LFL

You didn’t pay extra for the rides. You had a ticket book with E rides for the big fancies like Space Mountain – down to 1-2 A rides which were things like the horse & trolley on Main Street. Disney was full of small beautiful details like portrait artists, street performers in Epcot, boutiques, shops with real milliners and suits of armor. Even fast food stands had yummy variations of food to fit the theme.

Now- it’s the same t-shirt, hamburger and chicken tenders spot from one end to the other. Kind of like a beach boardwalk. The magical details are gone.
It’s kind of fun – but nothing like what Walt designed in the beginning.

      1. Mrs Anders

You’re exactly correct. I have gone to all the Disney parks in the US many times. The issue isn’t always price, people will pay to have fun but it isn’t fun anymore. It’s cheap but overpriced Disney
garbage at every turn. The food is overpriced and blah. We used to live in Orlando and my boyfriend/now hubby of 35 years and I went to Epcot for great seafood at the seas pavilion. We took neices and nephews in the summer and they had a great time. We liked it alone or with kids. Different experiences but both fun. We wouldn’t dare take a child to Disney now, we choose to let parents decide what woke info gets pit in front of them. Between Woke Porn movies, employees who couldn’t care less and prices that would make a Saudi prince think twice, there are better places to go. Even if the cost was the same, I would never take a child to Disney over Universal Studio’s. At least there, there’s a lot less to shield them from! The food is better, the employees are more engaged and the hotels are nicer.

Too expensive AND too busy. I find Universal better on both points AND more immersive.

    1. Bea

Universal is actually more expensive so not sure what you mean. Yes there are themed areas that are great but Universal does not have the magic.

      1. Universal is where we spend are money. Less weirdo’s and better quality, I won’t return to Disney, it’s worn out always breaking down, overpriced for the experience. I also live close by and can’t wait for Epic Universe!

  15. Darla

I went to Disney World Orlando in January 2023. I went to help my sister with her 19 year old autistic son. He loves Disney and Mickey so much. I was at Disney in 1971 when I was 6 years old with my family and almost every year for Christmas or New Years until I was a teenager. We traveled from Arkansas. My sisters and I loved it! When my daughter was 2 in 1999 I took her as well. When she was old enough to go with friends and family, she went I stayed home. Yes prices have definitely increased over the years and I just did not care to go anymore. When I tagged along with my sister , my daughter also brought my two grandsons 5 and 2. It was during the 50 Year celebration during the fireworks that I had realized I’d lost the magical experience of Disney. Let me tell you, watching my nephew and my grandsons experience what I had as a child was magical. I was so glad I was there and to find the magic again. It was so amazing , my 2 sisters and my daughter went back for “Not So Spooky Halloween” in October that same year. (We live in Florida now) We plan to go again. Yes we have to save up, but it is so worth it!!!!

  16. Tina Beining

The last 4 years have destroyed our economy. We can’t afford family vacations. Parks can’t afford to pay employees. Employees don’t make enough to be able to afford rent…utilites..a cellphone…television. Even a car is not affordable. Car insurance is more than a carpayment. Cost of groceries has skyrocketed. I miss my life I used to have. Parks can not afford to operate our entire economy we can’t afford…anything. Sad….

  17. Susan

We just returned home. We had a blast. I had 4 little bits all under 9 with us and they enjoyed everything except the heat. It was very crowd and very busy. We won’t go back in the summer months again it was toooo hot. We paid less last year also.

  18. Mark

My last Disney experience was very negative. It was like they were trying to squeeze every dollar they could out of the guest.

I live close to Cedar Point and Kings Island which are now a better value for the dollar.

  19. Milo Miro

Walks on the beach with fires at night telling ghost stories healthy munchies some sand dancing was fun enough maybe take the model planes out for a flight or send missiles up in the sky .flying kites we did as well.we made memories and saved our kids from falling prey to extravagant non sense.neverntook them to Disney anything only because when given choices they always opted for the outdoors.a loot less costly even when buying dron a planes missiles telescopes kites and drinks and food we not only invested in our kids also in memories of a lifetime. M.M.

  20. E4Disney

Well you can make a list and rank by any criteria. While I agree the thrill rides at these other places are much better than Disney, that is all. The parks at Disney have no equal in cleanliness., food quality, and theme. Noone can come close to those categories. Also, while the other parks are good Disney for little kids is epic. I mean there are no attractions with the detail of the new star wars area. Go to six flags After June. Hang out around a trash can or food area, you’ll have yellow jackets and other pests. Disney has none of that. The level the attendants are supposed to behave to make it magical, none can come close to Disney. And none have the crowds stay till the end like Disney. Six flags, universal, busch gardens, those parks are just empty at the end even with an event. So yeah I get all this negative stuff about pricing, but let’s face it, those parks on your list are still the same price because they can’t raise their price like Disney. They are shut down this summer to relaunch after mergers due to net losses. I don’t see that happening at the house of Mickey. So to me your list really or whatever brittish firm ranked this, they are missing some criteria that really stacked the list.

  21. M

I think disney needs to go back to prices under 100 for adult’s. I think they need to remember why Walt Disney made that theame park. They need to remember it takes a loss to win . They need to cut prices on souvenirs $12.99 for a magnet for your frig is crazy. They need to make a Disney discount store Nordstrom rack and sell all their merchandise they couldn’t sell there for major discount like 75% off. There marketing team and sale pr needs upgrade.

  22. D J Richert

I wouldn’t pay a single dime to attend the sxxt show that is Disney world.

    1. Marie

If you hate Disney so much, then why are you on this blog?

  23. Larry Zamora

It’s simple Disney lower you prices in half and get rid of the fast pass idea let everyone wait equally so everyone can get on more rides. Paying almost $200 a day to get on 5-8 rides, I’m done . Hope your listening Disney MOST UNHAPPYiEST place on earth.

  24. Simon

    Go woke-Go broke.

Hate is not a family value

  25. WILFREDO A SEGARRA

No going back, until parking prices drop and free Fast Pass return. That why we stopped going to Universal.

    1. WDW Member

Just go to Europe instead. It’ll be cheaper and more memorable.

  26. mike

Been going to Disney since 1980. It’s never been so expensive. Out of reach for many families with young children. Parks are not keeping up with the competition. They feel stale. Need big influx of capital to continue leading.

  27. ArtMom1981

Lower the cost for tickets, yearly passes, food and drinks, souvenirs, up close experiences, free parking, affordable hotels. In the 1980’s and 1990’s everything was affordable and everyone that went to the disney parks were happy and there were no disasters or fighting at that time…. GO back to the way it was before. The only thing you have to do is think smart, be responsible, think affordable and you’ll get your good results.

  28. Use to go every year, refuse to spend that kind of money they’re charging now! My daughter took her young children for 1st time in February & the cost looks more like a down payment for a car, insane. Then the fact that you have to schedule the rides… asinine!!

  29. Charlotte Keel

We’re went with our children 20+ years ago and have been trying for the last 5 years to take our children and grandchildren back again but can NOT afford to do this. Disney should make this more affordable the the average person to take their family but believe it’s now for the rich. The average family can NOT afford this type of money…..VERY SAD!

  30. Angelique

As a long time fan and customer of Disney I have to say prices are ridiculous. Everything is so expensive a family of 4 can only dream of a Disney vacation. No surprise families are now choosing to go somewhere else. I live in florida and we can no longer afford Disney. Sadly I don’t think my grandchildren will ever have the Disney experience as it’s way too expensive now. 😫

  31. Angelique

Disney is not worth the money 6,000 plus is the least you’ll spend on a vacation for a family of 4. Prices continue to rise in spite of the economy. No surprise families are choosing not to visit Disney. I live near Disney and sadly my grandchildren will not experience Disney as it has got way too expensive. Even for Florida residents.

  32. Anonymous D

Seems like Disney is trying to recoup it’s money lost from poor performing movies.

  33. Billionaire C_O’s don’t see anything wrong with keeping the trash out

  34. Wayne

It’s been a dream of ours to go to Disneyland during Christmas, but frankly – we can no longer afford it in retirement. We added up the cost, and decided to spend our money elsewhere – their prices have told us, we don’t belong there anymore. Also, Disney’s stance on disability is no longer compatible with our needs.

  35. Scott

Disney doesn’t care because people pay.

  36. Robert

It is not as much the price as it is the demoralized standard that the Disney directors have allowed to occur.

The “Magic” that Walt Disney sought was a childhood innocence that has been forfeited for financial gain. Being a safe place for families young at heart without the declining influence of world affairs made Disney a refuge from tedium. Where a family could be unified together in a positive moral atmosphere.

The decline in Disney is due to their belief in compromising of morality, this becoming their “new” theme abandoning Walt’s vision. That vision that was the backbone of Disney’s worldwide success.

Now they are headed toward normalcy from which people their guests desire to escape.

In essence their reputation is becoming
    “Woke-World.”

  37. Carol

Nine years ago we took our family to Walt Disney World to celebrate our 50th anniversary. It was magical especially due to the atmosphere of friendship, helpfulness and fun that came from interaction with the cast members and visitors. We went back again with two teenagers for the 50th anniversary celebration of Disney. We had a great time within our group of four. However, the atmosphere with the various policies, the cast members and visitors was not the same. In fact, a wheelchair we were using was taken by another visitor. A cast member found another wheelchair for us to use. At other times cast members helped us and were generally friendly but did not exhibit the joy of an employee of a good place to work. Both times we went we spent months ahead of time planning and making reservations. The cost is prohibitive now. We would not have gone this time except that we used a small inheritance for the expenses. None of us plan to go back.

  38. DVC Ray

Sorry William but WDW and Disneyland are mobbed every day,and this artlcle is a joke. Stop printing false news about Disney !!!

  39. You always say things about WDW and DL that are not true !! Disney is killing it, mobbed every day. They don’t need to change one thing. You guys need to change.
Stop printing fake news about Disney !!!

  40. Tom Dines

    Disney is NO LONGER DISNEY.

  41. Baker

    Economics 101
Higher minimum wage means the government gets going taxes without raising taxes. Higher minimum wage means everything in this country has to go up in price. Goods and services rely on products products cost more because workers cost more. As emplooyers feels the pinch of having to pay more workman’s comp fees more taxes more fica because of higher wages, and price increases from their suppliers who are going through the same issues., every dollar there’s a raise it’s everything goes up at the base of 77% and because the base only breaks you even you have to charge more because the business surviving has to stay within 18% profit range. Factor and theft and then you have more shrink. So prices have to go up everywhere. And that includes farmer to table grocery store and restaurants, from oil to production to gasoline to the tank, everything. Maid service restaurant workers everybody gets a piece of this price increase and then we wonder why all of our goods and services go up and our luxuries triple. Back when the cost of a ticket to Disney world at 3:50 minimum wage was most closer to 2.50. when you’re looking at Good Old Days pricing, look at the good old days minimum wage. You’ll find out it’s pretty much equal.

We have visited your park since 1970 with our small children. Now that they are grown they can’t afford taking their children. We moved to Estero,FL 20 yrs ago and can’t take them because of the exorbitant price. Perhaps you can consider this. People like us get your discount so perhaps you can extend our discount to our families that
Come to visit. We are Americans and your are our national park for entertainment. Please do the right thing and make us proud. Respectively Helen Ruocco

  44. I’m a local in Orlando, Florida & I used to be an annual pass holder.(that was when tickets were $450 then $500 for the year. ) 8 or 9 yrs ago. Now Tickets are way over $1000.00 It is no longer an economical way to enjoy our local parks. Top brass b end to find a way to entertain in at more reasonable price or there will be more families who never experience Walts wonderful dream for families. Everything can’t always just be price hiked. 😪

  45. Michelle

I feel Disney is deliberately out pricing average families with the eventual goal of only the well off and wlote being able to afford to vacation at Disney. Disney is no longer a “magical kingdom”.

  46. George

This is sad. Average families cannot afford a Disney vacation in Orlando. It’s just too expensive …. elite and wealthy families only please.

  47. Jean

Knoebels in Pennsylvania which I believe also has a campground

  48. MJBergin

We went to Universal Parks recently and found it just as expensive if not more, and they only have rollercoaster rides. We were very disappointed and it cost a fortune!!

  49. Risha Linda Mateos

Disney has always been loved but now the children of ordinary working class families may never be able to afford to see Walt Disney’s vision. The cost is prohibitive and with so many extra costs within Disney itself it’s just not within reach any longer.

  50. Wokeland

Woke Disney couldn’t care less what we think. They favor international visitors at this point as they will spend big $ on hotels, meals, etc. atop the insane ticket prices. Last time I was at Disneyworld there were far more Brits, Ausies, eastern Europeans, Asians, and South Americans than Americans. All those people take advantage of currency exchange rates which makes the place cheaper for them. Over and above this Woke Disney no longer reflects family values.

  51. Gloris

My family was able a long time ago afford Disney. My only sorrow is that the futures children will not. I’ve lived right next door to Dusney FL and only went once and will never return again. I even mo ef out of FL due to costs. For the cost of Disney, I took my family on a 7 day cruise, not Disneys, they enjoyed many ìslands and moteattractions.

We paid over $400 for 3 days, plus $30 per day parking at 3 WDW parks, plus a fast pass costing $20 per person , in January 2024. My family said that may be our last visit to WDW. Too expensive and still has long lines. This summer, we opted for Kings Island for $53 per person, including parking. Lines averaged 10 minutes. The cost of food and drinks was around the same as at WDW. So we only ate 1 meal at WDW and KI. Ate outside for at least half the price before or after park entry. Heading to Dollywood or Holiday World next trip.

  53. Bob

It’s a shame that hard working family can afford the pleasure of going to D.W. or D.L. They set the price for the other amusement park around the country to a higher standard.

  54. The Conservative vative

Everyone can agree, going to Disney World is not a cheap vacation. Our family (my wife and our son) has been going every other year since 2006. We fly down since the drive is 20 hours. Inflation over the years has most certainly driven the price up. Let’s face reality, minimum wage is out of control. I am seeing fast food and other part time jobs starting at $15 or more per hour. So what do you think is going to happen to the cost of going to Disney World? Bottom line is nobody is forcing anyone to go to Disney World for a family vacation. Funny thing here is nobody is complaining how it cost to take a family to a NFL, MLB or NBA game? Those can be just as much for only 3-4 hours of entertainment. Going to Disney World for a day is 12+ hours of entertainment. As for going into debt for a vacation this is just stupid! Vacations are a luxury item! End of discussion! When wife and I were growing up, her parents and mine only went on vacation if they had cash. My parents couldn’t afford to take us to Disney World, so we didn’t go.

I absolutely love everything Disney. Recognizing that it must be expensive to maintain these parks to the Disney standard, I just can’t bring myself to spend this kind of money. Also, Disney is now available to only people of a certain means. This is so sad for those children that will never get to experience Disney. It’s simply out of the price range for so many.

  57. Mary

We went to Epcot at the end of May. I was there when it opened in the 80s. New Disney character events for the knowledge-based, clever attractions was disappointing. We did enjoy the bar be que, but just two of the attractions were worth the walk in heat and humidity. Too expensive for what it was, as well. We are older, loved Disney in our times, but it is not for us anymore.

  58. Dogmatick

Took my son to Eurodisney Sept 23 and the tickets and lightning pass for the two of us came to £500.50 which is approx $700 for two for a single day, more than half of that was the lightning pass which is a complete joke
The mouse is a money grubbing little so and so now

  59. Sandi

You have to remember how costs have gone up since COVID and how the workers there like to have better paychecks, also. I always say..take that ticket price..using 100 dollars as an example..if you are at the park for 10hours a day your cost is 10 dollars an hour. You really do not have to eat there and so your costs are a lot less. We have been going since 1972 and have seen costs rise just like everything else. To me it is worth saving for!

  60. Hope

This is why poor Walt is rolling in his grave or ice bucket whatever! The park these days isn’t even well taken care of. Not worth the money anymore. Too many other great parks to go to that don’t waste so much of your money. Just to say “I saw Micky”. Go to a pet store they have plenty!
