Limiting annual passes is inconvenient for some guests, but that doesn’t mean that it’s a bad business decision.
If they’re going to manage supply and demand for the passes, there are two choices. Limit the numbers, even if the exact limits are business secrets, or raise the price until fewer people are willing to pay for the convenience of the pass.
A drastic price increase would hurt Disney much more than the temporary closure of annual pass sales does

Magic Keys haven’t been selling like before. None of them have sold out since selling resumed this year. The bottom 2 Keys are blocked most of the summer. They want to push the summer ticket special now. An entire section of Disneyland will be closed for construction with no opening date given.

Good. The magic keys just crowd out Disneyland. We are flying in the week between Christmas and New Years just so we can go without the APs. We want to be around day ticket holders who appreciate the magic, and it’s not just their weekly visit.

They do this for parks when they’re going to increase the price. Reason why we ALWAYS renew. Didn’t have issues during covid because we kept renewing and didn’t let it lapse. People regretted not renewing and using the let’s wait and see approach
