  1. Disney carries some of the blame. HIGH prices caused people to have HIGH expectations. Rise of the Resistance ruined our day (broke down 3 times while we were in line). My family refused to get out of line (their first time on it). 3.5 hrs waisted. I got a refund for Genie+ because their were no passes left and we never got to use it. I didn’t play the fool like these folks; I was respectful to cast members that refunded our money. The chat person on the Disney app got the brunt of it. I thought I was going to have an accident in the line and embarrass myself.

      High expectations, my butt! It’s much more like “for the price you made me pay, I believe that entitles me to float loaded diapers and drop litter streams on the jungle cruise river and then drop a deuce in the queue of the next ride and if you don’t like it: TOUGH!” Big difference😑

        Ummm….there’s a lot of financial and time commitment on the part of the guests, and that shouldn’t be ignored in all of this. Disney could’ve just been the good guy in all of this, but of course, they weren’t.

        Too big to fail? Of course not.
        Too big to care? Of course they are.

          So incredibly true. Lately park guests are expected to pay high prices and then expect nothing more than a ride or two then spend the rest of the paycheck on trinkets and food. I’ve been a local to Disneyland, Annual passholdre, Key holder for decades but now it has become so exhausting and disappointing to go anymore that I am most likely going to let my pass expire. It’s so sad, because I love Disneyland, but I don’t know if I want to go anymore. Their DAS program helped my bladder issues, but now that’s gone. Maybe I will just take a long break.

            While some points of all these comments ARE valid, we do have one thing that is being overlooked. And now put yourself in the shoes of Disney management, cast members, maintenance crews, etc. No matter how much one may service attraction, how much care they give to the people in line, or try to keep things running smoothly, malfunctions and break downs CAN and DO happen. This isn’t some Lego playsets they’re working with. There’s so much behind the scenes going on, to keep these dudes going, and the use of them every day, it’s going to cause wear and tear on them. The point is that people yell and scream at cast members, and blame it on poor management. But the bottom line is we’re NOT part of the behind the show crew. We have NO idea how difficult it can be to keep an attraction running, or how complex a ride system might be to maintain in perfect working order.
            To get so infuriated at Disney cast members, when it likely has nothing to do with them… They’re doing the job they were taught, like every other working person. It accomplishes nothing, except.making the people ranting and raging look like entitled babies.
            Yes, we.might pay a lot to get into the parks. But no one forced anyone at gunpoint to do so. We MADE that choice. Anyone planning a trip KNOWS (or should know, if they do their “homework”) what it’s going to cost them approximately. Is it really fair to blame Disney for it all? Think about it for just a bit.

            There are other aspects of the business, aside from just charging guests to enter the parks. While I do agree it’s getting a bit out of hand, it’s not entirely the part of Disney being greedy or such. Cost overheads are rising everywhere. Not just for profit. Think about property taxes charged to the parks, maintenance on the parks themselves… Labor costs, cast member pay, materials, etc… various utility bills… People forget and often think that Disney doesn’t have any of these concerns. But that’s not the case.
            When all is said and done, they ARE just as much a business as a store is. The need to make certain financial requirements to stay in business. Without that, the business goes into the negative.
            Unfortunately, it DOES come at the expense of the guests and rising costs, but take a look at your local grocery store closely. Have you noticed prices rising, if even slightly? It’s the same factor. They need to stay afloat somehow, and that’s due to rising prices.
            As much as we dislike it, we need to realize that things like this are inevitable.

    Ban the bloggers, who buy their keys with what they make on YouTube when they complain consistently about what’s happening. Like fresh baked Dave, so cal dad ect. Don’t like what’s going on, don’t go

      Vloggers and bloggers comprise literally 0.0002% of all Magic Key holders, and have nothing to do with this story.

      Fresh Baked is one of the better vlogs out there. Dave is respectful to CMs and doesn’t spread unsubstantiated gossip. I don’t care for most content creators, but Dave is a good watch.

        Agree with you 100% there. Fresh Baked has been a part of my Disney viewer life for years now. Himself and Chris Provost, of Provost Park Pass are my faves.

      What do these vloggers have to do with this exactly? Grasping at anyone to blame, it seems. What if we blamed you for buying the last of something at a store, because we wanted it? Basically same thing. Blame all the people buying that stuff, ban them from the stores! Doesn’t make sense, does it?
      It’s not having to do with being in the public eye, or social media. It’s about people who think they’re entitled, because they PAID for a Magic Key. Well, I’ve gotten things (cars, VR systems, computers, etc.) that some other people can’t afford. Does that mean I get to go out and act entitled because I ha e a better car than another? No. It just means I was fortunate enough to be able to have that privilege.
      Don’t blame those that found success due to vlogging, when it’s not the real issue

      Is that supposed to be clever or something that’s never been said before?

      What about the vast majority of countless Magic Key holders who are normal people…. not unlike hundreds of people I know who have Magic Keys and never have issues?

      You’re actually being quite over the top, as you’re labeling a percentage of these people acting up, along with others who don’t. That’s like us labeling you into a group here, like “All these comm-ies in the chat. I knew I wasn’t over the top labeling them.”
      I wouldn’t actually call you, or anyone here that… Well, maybe ONE, but that’s a story for another time, but you get my point, I hope. Just try and see it from the other side a bit, before making some jab like that. Have a magical day!

    Honestly my wife has significant health and mental health issues. I have health and mental health issues. On a typical day at Disney World cast members behave worse than Six Flags employees. With the exception of guest services. Though, results very for that as well.

      So, on a typical day, you’re saying? So, is that signifying you go to these parks on a daily or very frequent basis, to make such a call? Or just perhaps that particular day was an off day for cast members behavior. It kind of sounds unjustified to make that sort of assumption, when you don’t know if other theme parks, such as six flags, might have had their park members acting up with guests there on some days.
      To put it in perspective, one experience shouldn’t create your opinion of a place, should that be the case.

    I understand their frustration. I’m also a magic key holder. I am used to rides breaking down constantly at California Disney parks. As a pass holder, I know I’ll just come back another day. I feel bad for people who pay for ticket(s) for just a day or a week. Prices are ridiculously high and most days are very crowded. Still, bad behavior will not be tolerated. It’s unfair to cast members and other guests.

  7. Don’t take your frustrations out on the poor workers.
    Learn to direct your anger to the appropriate audience.
    Some of these “adults” act like spoiled babies.

      That about sums it up. I know Disneyland is supposed to be a place for children and adults to have fun times together, but it never mentioned it’s a place for adults to regress into the mentality of children.

    Crimeny. I’m an AP holder, have had one since before the 50th. And never in a million years would I use that privilege (and yes, it’s a privilege to be able to afford one) to browbeat CMs. Does it absolutely suck to wait in line, only to have an attraction break down? Yep. Does yelling at the CMs get you anything but a visit from security? Not usually.

    As a magic key holder myself i can understand why after paying so much money i would want to compensated for this kind of inconvinience. But lets be realistic if you have the pass im sure that 1 you have already been on the ride and 2 youll have plenty of chances to go on it again. And 3 on a personal level i wouldnt wait in line for over an hour knowing that all rides can break down at anytime. In this case they deserved to get kicked out for complqining when they should have had better judgment seeing how this most likely wasnt their first time there.
    Now if this was a regular guest who has a 1 day ticket then defenetly they should be compensated in some way

    Rise of resistance always has 60+ minutes wait time and it breaks dow. Regularly. With your logic waiting in line for tha ride is pointless, maybe so. But when you have spend thousands of dollars, you want to ride.

    That ride broke down over three time when we were there. They close the ride at 10 and it broke at 9:45, they gave us a lightenin Ln pass but the ride never resumed.

      At least they gave you the pass to get on WHEN the attraction resumed normal operations. However, when it never came back up that day, then it was clearly not some quick fix. And as I posted earlier, the cast members, management or otherwise, have no knowledge of when something might go wrong. I realize that you may be spending thousands of dollars and WANT to ride, but unless you’re able to see the future, you should know the chances that something might potentially break down without warning.

    Pass holders aside I can understand the frustration of wasting an 1hr and half for nothing. As a former CM I’m appalled they didn’t get a pass to enjoy another attraction after legit waiting that long only to get nothing. Every attraction I have known in Florida when something like this happens everyone in line got a multi choice pass to compensate for the time wasted. Of course this was before Disney got greedy and started charging for those passes.

    Disney is such a scam. It has been for decades. I went this week and I could barely move. Shortest waiting time was 90 minutes for a ride. There were strollers everywhere, not only in the designated areas. $35 dollars for parking? Insane. It took me an hour from the moment I started waiting in line to pay for parking to the moment I sat on the trolley that took us to downtown Disney/entrance area. RIDICULOUS. never again
