The WDW security officers are extraordinarily thorough, even in the sweltering heat. They catch people trying to bring in weapons at the parks and at Disney Springs. Now the Anaheim Security team is very lax. I had a ton of stuff in my backpack and they glanced at it. Had me open half of the zippers, but not the others. The Anaheim Security like to chat a lot – with each other. Team Disney Anaheim needs to tighten them up. Anaheim needs new leadership, period.
Actually, I won’t go into details, so as to not give anyone ideas, but neither team is as thorough as they need to be. There are plenty of ways people could sneak things through, a lot of this could be solved if they had everyone (including strollers and mobility devices) go through the scanners they have at WDW, those ones can be set to identify issues with mobility devices, strollers, etc. And they need to have the same at DL. Then they should have xRay machines for all baggage like at the airports and hand screen as a last resort.
To anyone who thinks WDW security is all that, it is a joke. Your told to goto any cast member and tell them what is going on. I went to a parade edge watcher and told her what happen and she just stood there and did nothing. I had a guy (rather muscler at that) threaten me and again she did nothing about it.
