To make a correction in the article, the correct name of the QSR by Soarin’, is called Smokejumpers Grill, not Taste Pilots Grill.
And yes, you can see the kitties wandering around randomly during the day/ night. It just depends on their mood, and the temperature. I’ve seen one sitting between the train tracks at Main Street Station, and she had zero cares in the world, until she felt the train coming.
I work in DCA and there is an orange and white one named Lucy that lives in our break area. Most times she doesn’t get too close to us but she doesn’t mind us being there either. She’s actually a sweet girl.
I love the idea of cats at Disneyland. I’m so glad that they weren’t run off and that they have found a home there. I wonder if anyone is in charge of spay and neuter. I think it’s wonderful and I’ll make sure to look out for them next time.
On our last trip we saw a cat napping by the elephants during the Jungle Cruise. I haven’t noticed any other cats though. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for them the next trip though!
Aww the stray cats strut at dl! Your so lucky we at wdw have gators, racoons, snakes, red ants, every type of bird including pigeons on vacation, rabbits and squirrels that are quite people friendly bothers guests like crazy but cms love em! Esp charlie and her family they live at dhs! I rescued one of her babies once! I am not a cat person but this is def more charming then the zoo of fl backyards!
I love the fact that the cats are still there and I hope they never go away. I enjoyed my time at Disneyland and I enjoyed more looking for the kitties than the rides. Miss that since the prices have gone up so high.? just cant do it anymore.

I love cats! I love Disney! I love Disney cats! Thank you for this article. It brought a smile to my face. Now I’m off to spend the rest of my morning on Instagram looking at photos of furry felines.
I love this! I’ll be going to Disneyland next year with a group of friends – we were going on May 6th of this year but that’s kapoot. Anyhoo, when we go I’m definitely going to be looking for some feline cast members. Thanks!
I’ve seen cats several times. I always look near the fence line under the trees when I ride the tram. There’s usually a couple of cats there. They must be having the time of their lives right now with the run of the park to themselves.
A few years ago my daughter and I had the good fortune to me one of the kitties in California Adventure. She walked right up to our table. Sat down on a low wall and charmed us completely. Such a lovely surprise. There were very few people there, so that might be why she wasn’t wary of us.
When my husband and I went to Disneyland 4 years ago he said he spotted a calico cat and I didn’t believe him. I said, there isn’t cats at Disneyland..lol
So I googled it and found out about this wonderful idea that there are many cats there. That’s makes happy beacuse I am a big cat lover. I didn’t see any fur babies when I went last month.. probably too hot outside. I will be looking now when I go. I hope they stay forever.
Wow, this must be an old post! Before covid you could see a kitty once in awhile around the park. Post covid good luck catching a glimpse of a cat. General thought is Disney rehomed (hopefully!) the cats. When the parks reopened the the cats must have turned into ghost kitties! Nary a cat sighting…plus the rodent population increased by leaps and bounds. Myself, saw a HUGE rat running into the plants by toon town by the railway station. Plus heard one of the fast food places in Tomorrowland was shut down due to rodent problems for a short while.
The kitties should be brought back!

I loved this article. I have been to Disneyland twice, but have not seen any cats. I will be on the lookout on my next trip west.

We usually see Francisco when we go to DCA hanging out along the walkway at Grizzly River Run…

I saw in a train tunnel on my last visit! I was excited to spot it ?

There is no “Magic Kingdom at Disneyland Park”. Magic Kingdom is at Walt Disney World in Florida.

Great, now I’m picturing 50 stray cats breaking into the Hall of Presidents, and Peter Ustinov reading them T.S. Eliot…

Do they have shelters for them when the weather is cold?
